6ix9ine in Concert
Grimy gangster rap meets ‘90s-era rainbow-clad raver in 6ix9ine's showmanship. Though his gaudy style might seem like an incongruity, the Gen-Z emcee is all about bringing shock-filled and invigorating performances straight from the SoundCloud rap scene. In just one year, the Brooklyn provocateur has shared stages with superstars like Nicki Minaj, Future, and Cardi B. Although the rhymester brazenly spits over shotgun sound effects and eerie atmospherics, there's an element of comic relief to his hardcore trap-infused hip-hop. His live show set expectations for jaw-dropping scenarios: whether he strips to his underwear, or inspires mosh pits and crowd-surfing in true punk-metal spirit.
About 6ix9ine
Tekashi69, aka 6ix9ine (born Daniel Hernández), is one of the most buzzed-about emcees in the game. The Bushwick, Brooklyn-reared artist of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent began dropping tracks online in 2014, quickly gaining viral traction across the Internet with his unique image: he rocks a rainbow mane and grill and his face is covered in oversize tattoos. He's also one of the most controversial rappers of the booming SoundCloud rap scene, often rhyming about his former drug-dealing days, sexual exploits, and run-ins with the law. By late 2017, the 22-year-old reached stardom with his official breakout debut "Gummo" — a nod to Harmony Korine's 1997 shock-comedy film of the same title — which scored him a record deal with Universal. Since then, his signature full-throated, aggro-rap songs, which take cues from Lil' Wayne and DMX, have peaked the Billboard charts with viral hits like "Fefe," starring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz, and "Bozoo." His ‘Days69' mixtape debuted in the Top Five of the Billboard album charts. The rising rapper is also causing huge waves in the growing Latin trap scene with notable features along Anuel AA, Arcángel, and Bad Bunny.
