About

311 in Concert

311 defined the 90s with a style that many bands would come to embrace – folding rap into more traditional forms like alternative rock and reggae. Their early 90s' hits "Down" and "All Mixed Up," tracks that carried their self-titled album to the No. 12 spot on The Billboard 200, introduced the world to an original sound that remains popular today. "Over the past few years, we've realized we're primarily a live band...and we're damn glad for that," said lead singer, Nick Hexum. Their fan base, dubbed the "The Hive", agree because every 311 concert is an intense, trippy and emotional ride. 311's most recent album Universal Pulse reached No. 1 on Billboard's Tastemaker Albums and Independent Albums charts.

With foresight and two decades of solid hits, 311 has turned the police code for streaking in Nebraska into an instantly recognized symbol for the meeting of ska, rap metal and jazz fusion. The band began in Omaha, Nebraska with Nick Hexum, Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton, P-Nut and SA Martinez. The band went through several independent releases before signing with Capricorn Records in 1992. Their last album, in 2011, Universal Pulse, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200. Since the introduction of their first album Music in 1993, 311 has released Grassroots, 311, Transistor, Soundsystem, From Chaos, Evolver, Don't Tread on Me, Uplifter and Universal Pulse. On every even-numbered year since 2000, the date 3/11 has meant the 3-11 Day Concert, when the band performs an extremely extended set. Fans who bought tickets to 3-11 Day in 2012 saw the band perform 79 songs over two days in Las Vegas. If you're looking for their 2014 album, it will be out on — you guessed it — March 11.

In the summer of 2019, 311 is touring with Dirty Heads for what they said will be a hybrid of "alternative sound and good vibes." The U.S. tour runs July 2-Aug. 20. They will be joined by pop trios Dreamers and Bikini Trill for all shows, with special guest performances by The Interrupters on all but six dates.

    Phenomenal show

by JasonF9181 on 2/18/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

First time seeing 311. This was an amazing show! Over 30 years in the game and they sound unbelievable. So much energy and the crowd was feeling it. My only complaint was the row in front of me kept getting up and blocking the view. Get your drinks and enjoy the show people! Would see them again tomorrow if I could

by Mel on 2/18/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

311 is still rocking! On this tour, they played mostly the big hits (YAY) instead of new stuff. They sounded awesome and had great energy. It was an excellent show, highly recommend catching this tour

    Lifelong fan

by Heather on 2/18/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

311 was hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to. No intermission- non stop music. Peanut and his dancing were fantastic. Little bummed no laser show or back drop but even without still amazing. Light show was blinding so will be bringing sunglasses next time!

    Nod your head to this....

by 311 at the Union on 10/10/23The Union - Salt Lake City

It was great to see 311 in a more intimate venue instead of the large outdoor arenas they've played for the last 15 years or so. Granted, jumping with tens of thousands has its charm but the audio quality and closeness everyone at the Union enjoyed that night is hard to beat.

    311 Great as Ever

by Stu on 10/9/23The Union - Salt Lake City

311 at The Union is about as close and intimate as you can get. For 311 to still want to play small venues, shows that they are still just playing for their fans. Awesome show!

One of top 5 shows out of over 100 in 33 years

by 311MakeupArtist on 10/8/23Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park - Grand Junction

Trying epic set list. Like it was custom made from my playlist. Incredibly diverse and something off every album. Not the usual fair either. Yes, some of the classics, but loads of epic songs you love that were last played live the tour that supported the album they were on. Also beautiful amazing chill venue.

    Go see 311!

by 311 Fan on 10/8/23The Union - Salt Lake City

Go see 311. 33 years together you're bound to know at least on of their many songs. Best crowds also, I've never left a 311 show without making a new friend.

    Best concert/venue

by Jcr22 on 10/8/23The Union - Salt Lake City

If you like their music- albums- them live is 1000 times even better. The venue was amazing, small and you had a good spot everywhere- as long as tall people weren’t in the way. But the show was great the staff was great, the show was amazing

    So much nostalgia.

by 90s kid on 10/8/23The Union - Salt Lake City

This was a crazy good concert. I have been listening to these guys since the early 90’s. Never had the chance to see them live. This concert rocked and met all my expectations. The band sounded amazing and they played all by favorites I wanted to hear. I will be watching for their next show so I can do it all again . Also the revenue was nice. Smaller than a huge venue made it more intimate and the area upstairs gave a great view without the larger crowds. Looked like there were a few tables with chairs you could reserve- I will be doing that next time since I am a lot older now and would have liked to option to sit for a few mins. Ha.

311 is great! The venue sound wasn’t the best

by 311OmahaFan on 10/3/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

311 is always awesome and has good energy. 5 stars for the band. However 2-3 stars for the venue (The Astro La Vista). We were off to the side of the stage and the sound quality left a lot to be desired. I ended up walking a little closer and to center of stage and sound was better. Love the band, didn’t love the sound at the venue. If you go to a concert here make sure to get tickets in front of the stage and not off to the sides.
