The Psychedelic Furs scored in the ‘80s when John Hughes featured “Pretty in Pink” in his classic 1986 teen comedy Pretty in Pink, naming his film after The Furs’ song. Led by lead vocalist Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass, the band’s 1981 sophomore album Talk Talk Talk (featuring “Pretty in Pink”) debuted on the Billboard 200. Their follow-up, Forever Now (1982) included the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Love My Way,” a staple of ‘80s Top 40 radio. Their 1987 release Midnight to Midnight because their highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit single “Heartbreak Beat.” The Furs went on hiatus in the ‘90s and reformed in 2000 for a co-headlining tour with The Go-Go’s and B-52’s. In 2017, the band's 1984 song "The Ghost in You" was featured in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Had a great time at the Psychodelic Furs show. Band is amazing!
2nd concert for my teen…both of us loved it! Crowd was great! Hard Rock is cozy and no matter where you sit is a great seat!
Awesome guitarist and drummer. Great bass player. Vocals were sometimes weak. Lighting was Amazing. A must see group.
We loved this concert. The Psychedelic Furs is a band that all generations can listen to. The public dancing from teenagers to elderly enjoyed this band.
The Psychedelic Furs were in spectacular form on Friday, 19 May. The set list covered their entire career with a Roxy Music cover added. With Mars missing, there was a different dynamic of the songs and energy, but the audience definitely gave an added boost of energy. i personally was thrilled for the addition of House to the set list. The venue staff was very friendly and helpful.
We booked a hotel room for the night and traveled with our dog. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend due to our fur kid getting sick. We love her and had to stay with her and left Orlando in the morning. Sorry and a bit heartbroken to have missed seeing this fabulous band that we adore. It stings a bit but I hope we will see the Furs soon at another venue.
Very sad to discover their Saxophone player passed away. Hard Rock is a beautiful facility and a great concert venue, but their drink prices are an abomination.
The Psychedelic Fur are the best band on the planet. They always put on an incredible show. Highly recommend seeing them.
They were outstanding! They sounded like they did when they were young! Loved every minute of it!
The Furs show was a great example of what happened when a babd’s been playing together for nearly 50 years. Very tight, lovely and well thought out. I've seen them a couple of times recently and they were definitely as good as ever. Maybe not the same as 1980 but tighter and a lot more refined. Certainly a great evening well worth the money.
Mars Williams was not with the band so that was a bit of a loss. Played 16 songs I think- so not that long of a show. Should just play their top 5 or 6 songs twice. Sound was good and Richard Butler still sounds good. Venue was just ok. Hard to move around and getting to the bar was a problem.
One never expects one's music heroes to perform as well as they did 40, 30, even 20 years ago. But The Psychedelic Furs in this instance proved me wrong. Richard Butler's voice was phenomenal. His energy, moves and mannerisms were on time! Of course Tim Butler rocked in his usual engaged and amazing way. The lack of Mars Williams and the Fur's signature saxophone style was of course noticeable, but with two guitarists and the keyboards replicating some sax, the band maintained the musical edginess of their earlier days. While John Ashton is permanently embedded in my heart, Rich Good is an exceptional guitarist and the perfect replacement for John. I have seen the Psychedelic Furs four times: twice with John Ashton and twice with Rich Good. This particular show was exceptional. The performance was powerful, passionate and soulful. The House of Blues New Orleans is an excellent venue for them, with an intimate club-like feel, at least from my perspective on the floor. My only and usual "complaint" is that they don't play long enough to include more of my and other fans' favorite songs. If anyone is lucky enough to have a chance to see this iconic group perform live, please take it!
Band was excellent and the food was incredible but there was way too many people allowed in
The Psychedelic Furs never disappoint and I’m forever going to be a Super Fan. Glad to see the Butler brothers are still well and full of energy. Love how they have kept their same sound as back in the beginning. Although when Evan Dando took the stage as opening band. I think I would have rather sat in silence. He definitely has some issues going on and was struggling with them. I couldn’t hardly wait for his set to end. I feel the venue should do a better job screening their performances.
I think the lemon heads guy who opened had to be high on meth or something. I felt really embarrassed for him. I thought at first it was supposed to be funny, but then I realized he was serious with his sound effects & picking his butt throughout the songs. The way he transitions between songs was a train wreck. The psychedelic Furs were fabulous!! I was transported back to the New Wave scene off the 80s. I love how they stayed true to their sound which is why they are still so popular. They deserved the encore that they were given. I will definitely see them again.
Psychedelic Furs still have it!!! The crowd at the awesome Aztec Theater in downtown San Antonio was filled with both young and old to enjoy an evening with The Furs. Richard Butler and company played at the peak of their talents. Outshining the last few times I’ve seen them. They played all the hits plus a few tunes from their latest album. It’s no surprise Depeche Mode recruited him to help co-write some songs from their latest album. If they are in your neck of the woods, do yourself a favor and go see them
Always a great experience at Houston HOB. And the Psychedelic Furs killed it. Their energy, sound and performance was spot on!
It was just amazing to experience some of my favorite songs LIVE and at such short distance. Thanks for a wonderful venue.
They sounded just like record! Don’t miss these guys, a really good value show and entertaining.
The entire ambience and atmosphere, from sound to light and the performances themselves, the entire event was amazing! I had the best time!
