About

RICK SPRINGFIELD IN CONCERT:

Rock superstar Rick Springfield has been wooing audiences with his polished voice and leading-man looks ever since his rise to fame in the early '70s. More than four decades later, he looks and sounds as good as ever, treating fans to an unforgettable evening of solo performance and storytelling on his Stripped Down tour. Taking time between each song to relay the touching and humorous stories that inspired them, Springfield has proven that his talents as an entertainer extend well beyond his musical abilities. Whether fans catch him solo or performing with a full band, they can count on plenty of showmanship and charisma as he works his way through nostalgic hits like "Jesse's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Australian-born Rick Springfield began playing the guitar at age 13, cutting his teeth in several bands in England after his army officer father relocated the family there in 1958. After a stint fronting the British band Zoot in the late '60s, Springfield launched his solo career in 1971 with debut single "Speak to the Sky," a Top 10 hit in his native Australia. After releasing several moderately successful albums in the '70s, Springfield hit his stride in 1981 with Working Class Dog, a massive success propelled by the No. 1 hit "Jesse's Girl." 1982's My Success Hasn't Spoiled Yet fared similarly, landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawning several more hit singles. A veteran showman with four decades of touring under his belt, Springfield returns to the road once again for a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Not only was his music incredible, but his stories and humor made the evening a blast for our group of six!"

    One of the best!

by Music lover on 1/21/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to! From the second Rick Springfield and Richard Marx took the stage until the very end, the music was great, the audience was pumped and we all had the best time! 2 hours of non stop fantastic music and fun! I love how they talked to the audience. The Count Basie is a great place to see a show! I hope they come to my area again!

Awesome show with great music & lots of laughter. They are 2 talented men that sound like they did in the 80s. Loved the show & love the chemistry between them.

Rick Springfield at capital one Hall

by Jim on 1/16/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

Rick Springfield and Richard Marx were on the stage together which was a great format. Enjoyed the banter and I liked The song arrangements. The venue is fantastic. Everything sounded great even Richard Marx un- amplified was cool. They both did the crowd walk this time which was awesome however, we were in the cheap seats definitely going to spring for better seats next time.

    Campfire

by Wieland on 1/16/24St. George Theatre - Staten Island

It reminded me of our Boy Scout campfire sing alongs. More professional but nowhere near what the Eagles or even foreigner performed without the full band. Richard Marx did well when he stood in front of the stage, no amps and mics. A full unplugged song. Maybe for all the sing along fans it was great.

Not what I was expecting when I bough the tickets

by Adelson Smania on 1/15/24St. George Theatre - Staten Island

Show was not bad - but it was far from great. I was not expecting for an acoustic show - and only voice and guitar. So, it was a lot of talking, while I was expecting for more music. Some things didn't work well - like Richard Marx playing Angelia with no amps, as only the people that were seating really close to the stage could hear it decently. Overall, quite a shame, as I had high expectations for the concert.

    Fantastic walk through memory lane

by JenniferB on 1/15/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

I was admittedly nervous when I found out the Rick Springfield/Richard Marx show was acoustic, but after a slightly bumpy start (Rick's mic was too loud when we was singing harmony for Richard on the opening song), it was a blast! Richard's voice seems to have weathered the years better, but hey, he's 14 years younger than Rick. They played a good mix of ballads and rockers, told great background stories (wish there were more!), showed hilarious old photos and basically entertained themselves as well as us. You could tell they were having a ball performing together.

    Intimate

by Rick Fan on 1/15/24St. George Theatre - Staten Island

Intimate show where Rick Springfield and Richard Marx took turns talking about their songs, and singing them. Rick Springfield was so emotional about his song about his father‘s chair and it really affected the audience. It was beautiful. Richard Marx loves his three sons so much. It was obvious when he played along with them from a video. Overall awesome show!

    Incredible Show

by 80sMuzic on 1/15/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

Rick Springfield and Richard Marx put on a fabulous show. Both were onstage for most of the 2 hour show. They sounded great, interacted a lot with the audience, and brought even this aging crowd (me included) to its feet. Highly recommend!

Worth every $ and every minute!

by Excellent! on 1/15/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

I was surprised that there was no band to accompany the singers but they did an AMAZING job entertaining the crowd. So engaging and just listening to them sing their songs LIVE was just a fabulous experience!

    Best show ever

by Jane on 1/14/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

This event was brilliant my developed… the Music, the humor and the personal touch all within a laid back atmosphere. And the fact that the duo are friends… one clearly more comfortable with a crowd than the other made it absolutely hilarious. They were relatable and that made all the difference in the world. I loved it.
