About

Two-time Grammy award winning comedian/actor/writer Lewis Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and finger pointing to expose the absurdities of life. His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life's hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world. He has performed throughout the world and the US, where he performed at Carnegie Hall and had two successful Broadway runs.

His latest stand-up special, Tragically, I Need You, released earlier this year and has already surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube. The brand-new special explores topics including his ways of coping with the pandemic, his frustrations with the evolving world, and of course his thoughts about the chaos of America these last few years.

Adding a unique element to podcasting, Black delivers audience-written Rants which have been submitted from fans around the world on his podcast, Rant Cast.

Black is the longest-running contributor on Comedy Central's THE DAILY SHOW and his stand-up specials have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Epix.

In 2020, he released Thanks for Risking Your Life. In 2015, Black notably voiced the character "Anger" in the Pixar Academy Award-winning film, Inside Out. His other notable films include Universal's Accepted co-starring Jonah Hill, Blake Lively and Justin Long, and also Man Of The Year opposite Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Laura Linney, and Jeff Goldblum.

The comedian has released eight critically acclaimed comedy albums including the 2007 Grammy Award-Winner, The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second Grammy in 2011 for his album, Stark Raving Black, and has a total of 6 Grammys nominations. He has published three bestsellers: Nothing's Sacred (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books, 2008) and I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas (Riverhead Books, 2010).

A published playwright, he's written over 40 plays and has found his work performed throughout the country, including at the A.C.T. Theatre, the Magic Theatre, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Public Theatre.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Lewis is dedicated to a number of charitable organizations including the Luv U Project, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and The 52nd Street Project.

He's also deeply committed to supporting our troops. A seasoned USO tour veteran, he's performed for the troops on three Christmas tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lewis is currently on his 2023 Off The Rails Tour. For dates and more info go-to: www.Lewisblack.com.

    Best show yet

by Kls on 2/21/24Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

This was the 5th time we’ve seen him and I enjoyed all the previous shows, but in my opinion, this was his best.

    Lew Never Disappoints!

by Klug Geisel on 2/21/24Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

What an evening! Exceeding expectations and then some, it was a fantastic evening with Lewis Black. He speaks to us in a way no other comedian can. It's more than simply making us laugh. Lew has a unique way of being thought provoking and hysterical all at the same time. He speaks to our souls and leaves us with a smile. Of course, ever since his White Album, I still lay awake at night and ponder the question of that woman's statement, "If not for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college..."

    Kind of Sad

by MilwFan on 2/21/24Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Great show as usual, but a bit sad because this may have been the last time I get to see him live in person.

    Lewis Black is amazing

by SinChicago on 2/21/24Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

So glad to see him again. He never disappoints. Truly a comedian with talent like no other. Looking forward to his next chapter. Only negative was the Genesee Theater in Waukegan. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but the seats aren’t made for anyone taller than 5”5. It’s nearly a week later and my knees are killing me. But so worth it to see Lou.

Lewis was as sharp as ever and while I am sad to never see him tour again, at least he'll still be around on The Daily Show!! The entire staff of the Genessee is warm, friendly, helpful, and it is always a pleasure to see a show there!! THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!!

Lewis Black was great. Not a great venue

by PD24 on 2/20/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

Lewis Black was hilarious. We all really enjoyed his performance. The venue, however, was not so great. It’s a smaller venue, which should be nice, but the bartenders were doing something with ice for over 5 min and it was very loud and distracting. Throughout the entire performance, security/police had walkie talkies going off that were very loud and distracting too. It’s not a loud show that would drown that kind of noise out. I’m sure a music performance would be better.

    Glad we saw Lewis black!

by Pl on 2/20/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

Great show! So happy to see Lewis black on his final tour. He was spot on and his opener did a great as well. We were at the soundboard at the MotorCity casino. Did not enjoy the venue. Temporary seats that were uncomfortable and linked together. No stadium seating so would be hard to see if u were back a bit. The security/ushers walkie talkies kept going off loudly. The bartenders were noisy and didn’t stop talking.

by Sandy on 2/20/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

I love Lewis Black. No other comedian makes me laugh as hard. I love how he touches on current social and political issues. He brings humor to everything he talks about. “Nothing’s Sacred”. I highly recommend his show.

So funny, but not as funny as he used to be

by Steve on 2/20/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

Lewis Black is still a great comedian and gives you a great show, but some of his humor has lost its shine.

    Great show super funny.

by Tahoe turtle on 1/30/24Silver Legacy Casino Reno - Reno

Loved the show. Laughed the whole time except when one woman shoutout out. If you come to a comedy show and can’t laugh at your political party just stay home. The opening act was great I believe his name was Jeff Stosen. Lots of great jokes about both sides of politics. Republicans and democrats cause let’s face it, Our politics are a joke. So glad we could Lewis black since he’s not really doing tours anymore.
