About

Tony Bennett, born Anthony Dominick Benedetto in Queens, New York in 1926, is one of the most popular crooners in history, having sold over 50 million records worldwide and won 17 Grammy Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. He started singing at an early age and fought in Europe during WWII before returning stateside. Bennett played concerts with Bob Hope in 1949 and released two No. 1 singles in 1951, Because of You and Cold, Cold Heart. He put out fourteen albums between 1951 and 1961, as well as the 1953 single Rags to Riches that reached No. 1, before the release of his platinum selling 1962 album I Left My Heart in San Francisco. A string of commercially unsuccessful albums in the late 1960s and 1970s followed during the rise of rock and roll, but Bennett returned to form with The Art of Excellence in 1986, and saw a reintroduction of his musical style to younger generations in the 1990s. He released the gold albums Perfectly Frank in 1992 and Steppin’ Out in 1993, and won the Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance with 1994’s MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett, selling over one million copies. 1996’s Duets: An American Classic and 2011’s Duets II also became platinum selling successes. With no signs of slowing down, Bennett continues to record and tour, playing for ticket holders in the U.S. throughout 2013 and 2014.

Valentine's Night With A Singing Icon

    by S. J. on 2/17/20Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

From the moment Mr. Bennett entered the stage at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, and began speaking and singing, I was sooooo elated to see and hear him!!! He has always been my favorite male singer, ever since I heard him sing his signature song, "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," when I was much younger. At the age of 93, Mr. Bennett STILL has the velvet, rich voice he always had. As he sang, standing in front of the piano, going through his repertoire of songs, I was enthralled with his brilliant talent, as well as his genuine warmth. He sang every song very clearly and strongly. The stage was bare, with his quartet of gifted musicians, and their instruments, with the dimly lit backdrop of color. However, with a singer of Mr. Bennett's stature, and talent, that was all that was needed. His daughter, Antonia, a gifted singer, herself, opened the show for her dad. When he entered the stage, and throughout the concert, the audience was on its feet, clapping and yelling. After he finished singing his last song, "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," we were on our feet, again, applauding him, and yelling for him, hoping for him to come back center stage, which he graciously did, several times. He was thrilled with our enthusiasm, and showed just how much he appreciated our love towards him, crossing his arms across his chest, waving at us, and even giving us a military salute. I will ALWAYS remember this night as long as I live!!! I understand why he is so well loved and respected, and has remained a very popular singer and entertainer for four decades. His talent is limitless, and cannot be surpassed!!! No wonder he has fans whose ages span from the 20's to the nineties!!! I LOVE TONY BENNETT!!!!

    Disappointed with the Ending

by TBFan on 2/17/20Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I was completely satisfied with the musical presentation, but the ending left me speechless. Tony began to leave, then came back, then began to leave again, then came back, and this continued for what seemed like an eternity. And he never did come back and perform an encore.

He sang for 90 plus minutes and never sat. An amazing performer. The band was awesome. Sadly this music is almost done as he is the last one standing.

Tony Bennett is an excellent performer with a great selection of music and a high energy level. His daughter, Antonia Bennett, is also an excellent performer and a great choice for opening the show. I also enjoyed Tony Bennett's band.

A perfect venue for a journey into the nostalgic music of another era. Absolutely divine and Antonia gave a lovely introductory performance. Tony amazes us with his energy and ability to still deliver a magical show! Delightful in every way!

    Nice Nice Evening

by Chathamman on 2/12/20DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

What a wonderful, relaxing and enjoyable evening. First off the Dpac in downtown Durham is as good as it gets in terms of venue! The facility, service, parking, nearby great restaurants and hotels, all great. Now, the concert, what can I say, it was Tony Bennett! I think the fact he is 93 makes the night all the more incredible. He sounded wonderful, he performed the songs my wife and I wanted to hear, he looked great and was really into his performance and the audience. I was amazed at his voice and the sound quality. His band and the pianist in particular were exceptional. Bravo!

    Tony Bennett

    by S. C. on 2/12/20DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Tony Bennett is a sentimental favorite of ours. However, his last concert was a huge disappointment. I think his age finally came into play. The concert was awkward at times and he even sang a song twice. I dearly love Tony Bennett but I feel his performing days should be over.

    A Memorable Experience

by Jim on 2/12/20DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Hearing Tony Bennett still on top of his game at 93 was a real treat and we’ll worth the expensive ticket, but Ticketmaster’s $16.50 add-on service charge seems excessive at best. Next time I’ll go to the box office.

    Good show

by M. S. on 2/8/20Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long Beach

Elegant place, easy parking for the events. Lack of signs restricting taking pictures or videos created some confusion between patrons, security officers having to run all over the place to stop people taking pictures.

    Classic entertainer

by Average guy on 2/7/20Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Tony was great. Easy to see why is relevant today as he was in the past. A master entertainer. The opportunity to see him perform is important. It was memorable taking my in-laws who loved his show and all the memories of his past performances they saw through the years. The only draw back was the opening which would be better with a different vocalist and program.

    What a Great Night!

by DeeDee on 2/6/20Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long Beach

Tony Bennett is a true icon and we totally enjoyed his concert. His phrasing is perfect and there will never be another person like him. He got so many standing ovations. Although he can't hold his notes as long as he used to, he can still sing and has such a unique voice and style. Just loved the concert!

Tony still puts on a great show!

by Rob on 2/6/20Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long Beach

At 93 years old, Tony may forget done lyrics and may not have the vocal strength as he had when he was young, but he still performs brulee expectation!
