About

Dave Matthews Band in Concert

With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.

The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."

Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.

With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."

Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

    Magical!!!

by Becky on 11/13/23John Paul Jones Arena - Charlottesville

I attended both Charlottesville concerts and I'm so glad I did! They were completely different one night from the next. It was magical - I have no other words for it. The music, the energy, the emotions - it was all just magical. The only thing missing is the violin!

    Feels good in the hometown

by Va Mountains on 11/13/23John Paul Jones Arena - Charlottesville

The band played their hearts out and we always feel they give the hometown a special performance. We only saw N1 and I wish so much that we could have seen both. It was fantastic as always and loved the special guest, Trombone Shorty and John D'earth

    Worst Concert Ever

by Disappointed in Savannah, GA on 11/13/23Enmarket Arena - Savannah

Worst concert experience in then years. Paid for premium seats only to discover the venue had added bleacher seats below the standard seats. For front row seats we ended up looking at the backs of everyone standing on the floor. Also, whoever was in charge of the sound system needs to find another job. We walked out after the first thirty minutes of Dave Mathews. Wasted money!

    Places to not go

by Shaggy on 11/13/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

Need to start doing better backgrounds on the venues that I will be attending. These cash less places really suck. Sometimes I take people less fortunate than myself to these concerts and I pay for there food and drinks . So if I take 3 to 4 people with me . We all have to go to souvenir stand at the same time. We all have to go to the Food vendor at the same time . We all have to go to the same beer line. Come on Stadiums grow up already paying 30 to 40 dollars to park . Then do not take cash. Ya'll suck and Bon Secures is one of those Places. Ticket Master we know you control everything tell them to start taking cash !

    Not the best

by Charisma on 11/12/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

The sound in the arena was awful. Started late. My husband who has never seen Dave live said, “it sounded like a bunch of noise.” It was difficult to hear the lyrics and energy was low until the encore. We really wished some of the older songs were played in the 3h of jamming. It was my fourth, but least favorite and most expensive DMB show.

    Another amazing show

by Leslie B on 11/12/23Enmarket Arena - Savannah

DMB put on yet another amazing show to kick off their Fall 2023 tour in Savannah, GA. The band was incredible as always, and the venue was very nice. The employees at the venue all seemed to be friendly and helpful as well. Only recommendation, would be to have a second merch section! Overall great experience!

    DMB Greenville SC

by Thomas on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

Had seats to the right of the stage and the sound quality was not good at all. Band as always puts on a good show, but it was tough to hear the vocals.

    DMB Rocked The House

by Rambler on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

I had never seen Dave Matthews Band. I had always hoped they would come to Greenville, SC but they never did. Then they finally came to and it had been over 20 years since they had been here. I was thrilled to have they come. They did not disappoint. The played 19 songs and a little over 2 1/2 hours and had the house on their feet the majority of the show. It was a great show and well worth the money.

    Still rock’n it

by Jeff on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

I’ve been seeing them since the 90s - just an incredibly talented group of musicians and clearly good friends who enjoy playing with each other. Decades of hits makes their set lists have endless possibilities.

    Missed the older music

by LoH on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

I was bummed there wasn’t more of a variety of the older music. I’m sure after playing for 33 years, those songs can get old. The band is incredibly talented and we so enjoyed the music, but would’ve killed for a few more of the older songs.

    Worst Dave show I’ve seen

by Dave fan on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

I have been to a lot DMB shows over the years and this one was the worst show I have attended. The band itself is awesome, but the sound system was horrible. It was interesting to hear a lot of people said the exact same thing after the show. They really need to fine tune the sound systems they use.

by Dholmes on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

Great show. He sang a variety of his songs and I'm sure everyone was able to connect on some level. I was happy to see such a great turnout.

    Not many classics played

    by Jaybee on 11/11/23

So, any music Dave sings is great. BUT I should have paid more attention to the title of the tour, didn't even realize they had a new album. I believe that's why I didn't know many of the songs played. I really wanted to hear the classics from college, and didn't. I recognized 1 song in 2.5 hours of playing. Don't get me wrong the music is great, but I really wanted to sing along.

    Awesome band - mediocre mix

by 2bikes on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

DMB is IMHO one of the best jam bands touring today. They put on a great show, as always. This was my 4th time seeing them - their performance was just as good as the previous 3 times, but the sound was not so great. The keyboard was mixed well all night, but sadly the rest was not. The kick and jammin grooves of Carter Beauford usually punch through the mix, but they were lost. Stefan Lessard always has super-tight bass lines, but they were pretty much lost all night. Overpowered by the horns from time to time, and sometimes they were just lost in the mix. I think perhaps I was spoiled by the first 3 performances, but I left this one feeling a bit disappointed ... but it had nothing to do with Dave or the band.

    Fun, Jamming for 3 hrs

by Zane on 11/11/23Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

I loved that DMB came out right at 7:30. No opener and no pauses for 3 hours straight. A great time with my girlfriend, who really loves DMB
