Hey, this was a great Christmas treat. My season would not have been complete without this fun and silly, entertaining and fun, event. A must for holiday dates.
I attended the play with 2 - 26 year old women and wondered if they would enjoy the humor. At times They laughed harder then us 50 + year olds! Well acted and funny!
Thank God this play was a comedy because we could laugh out loud at how bad it was without seeming rude. We knew we were in trouble after the first insipid song began. Our family of 5 (ages 17-55) was united in the opinion this Christmas play "stink, stank, stunk"!
Slow, boring, only one funny spot. Good for insomniacs as it will put them to sleep.
Funny - made you laugh. Well done. Light - not heavy. Spoof you Dickens!
It was a very good time. My family and I enjoyed t very much.
Fun musical, great way to relieve some holiday stress
Fun and funny, spirited and talented cast. Great silly songs and dances. Reminded me of an extended SNL skit.
Funny play in a small setting. Very nice performance
Wow, what a great time. I don't think I've every laughed as long and hard as I did at this play. it was a riot...the characters, the singing, the jokes...the cast was great! There was an obvious chemistry between them all, and they all looked like they were having fun. The songs, the dancing, the "special" effects. It was rat a tat fast, kept me engaged, smiling, laughing, tapping my feet, and yes, at the end singing "Grandma Cut the Christmas Cheese". A grand time was had by all, audience and cast and me.
Very good value for the price, especially considering the dearth of holiday entertainment this year in the Twin Cities - Basically like a community play, except for the lead female, I wouldn't expect to see these folks on TV or big productions. Recommended for a good evening out in an intimate theatre setting.
A Don't Hug Me Christmas Carol was absolutely hilarious. The New Century Theater is an amazingly intimate setting, and yet - very comfortable seating. This show is a must see. All of the cast members are extremely talented and they do an outstanding job - we laughed the entire time.
This was so much fun. Nice and lighthearted. I saw it with my girlfriends and liked it so much I took my boyfriend and his family. They enjoyed it as much as I did.
This show has been in Minneapolis for a number of years now and it is fantastic! The cat is funny, clever and super talented!
I took my daughter and husband to this play as part of our holiday celebration. I assumed since it was sold out it must be good. BAD assumption. We all thought it was very amaturish, only one of the 5 performers had a decent voice and the songs were original, but not all that creative. My 26 year-old daughter, who is not a prude, said she got tired of the "potty" humor in the songs and dialogue. To add insult to injury, I paid full price for the tickets and then found out it was sold out because most of the audience purchased 1/2 priced tickets. I would NOT recommend this to anyone, except maybe someone who never goes to theater and has low or no expectations.
Ya you betcha! This comedy / musical will make for a family tradition. It's a Minnesota thing ya know!
Best 5 actors I have seen. TWICE! The Don't Hug Me series is absolutely amazing, amusing and full of fun.
One of the best local Christmas plays I have seen.
My daughter and I went for her Christmas present. We laughed a lot! My daughter does not enjoy hugs and my family background is Norwegian- it was a win-win! Love the small, intimate feeling of the theatre. Thanks for a great kick off to our Christmas season!
This play was outstanding, funny, recommend, dynamite.
