Rock made history on March 4, 2023 with his Netflix standup special, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage," a first of its kind global live streaming event. The special debuted on Netflix's Top 10 and has been nominated for three Emmys and a Grammy. The special was the culmination of his Ego Death World Tour.
Rock can currently be seen starring opposite Colman Domingo in the Higher Ground produced and George C. Wolfe directed biopic, "Rustin," in theaters and streaming on Netflix now.
Next up Rock will be collaborating with Steven Spielberg on a film about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Rock will direct and produce the project, with Spielberg on board as executive producer. His animated series "Everybody Still Hates Chris" is set to stream globally on Paramount + and Comedy Central. Rock serves as the executive producer and narrator.
He can recently be seen in Sally Potter's short film, "Look at Me" and David O'Russell's, "Amsterdam."
In 2021, Rock starred as Loy Cannon in season 4 of FX's Emmy-winning drama series "Fargo." He also teamed up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures in the reimagining of the newest Saw franchise movie, "Spiral," in which he produced and starred in. His most recent standup special, "Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut," is currently streaming on Netflix.
In 2014 he led the ensemble cast of "Top Five," a critically acclaimed comedy feature that he also wrote and directed. In 2009 Rock ventured into the documentary world as a writer and producer of "Good Hair," and in 2014 he executive produced "Eat Drink Laugh: The Story of the Comic Strip," a documentary recounting the history of one of New York's most famous comedy venues. His feature acting credits include The Week Of, the Grown Ups and Madagascar franchises, 2 Days in New York, Death at a Funeral, Nurse Betty, Dogma, the hip-hop comedy CB4, and New Jack City.
His television work includes serving as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1989 - 1993 and as executive producer, writer and narrator for the series "Everybody Hates Chris." The series ran from 2005 - 2009 and is still one of the highest rated syndicated shows in the world.
In 2011, Rock made his Broadway debut starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis's "The Motherf**ker With The Hat."
Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and is a New York Times Best-Selling Author. In addition, he received two nominations for the 2016 Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Director for a Variety Special for "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo," and Outstanding Special Class Program for the 88th Annual Academy Awards.

by Michael H on 5/7/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodWe knew what we were getting into, we knew it wasn’t a stand up., but was hoping Chris Rock’s spin on Harry Met Sally would add a little spice to it, but for the most part it was the same script with a few substituted worded. You have to be a movie geek to enjoy something like this. The majority of the read was very very dry, there were short moments of laughter. Overall it was an experience to say the least, I’d likely not do another.

So many people walked out, did not know the movie and never watched the the movie so they were bored. Not funny at all. We pay to see stand up comedy. Highlight of the night was Dave Chappelle.

by Vangie BonDurant on 5/6/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodNot sure what to expect of the title "Table Talks", I truly wasn't expecting to sit and watch an hour of a script read of an old movie. I'm a movie- goer and a fan of comedy, but to my knowledge I've never seen a comedian read a movie script as part of his show. I'm not a comedian, and have no clue of what it takes to write a show that is true to the theme, conveys your message and appears natural and unrehearsed. I streamed his latest, Selective Outrage-it was excellent- and having never seen Chris Rock live, expected something similar. I sat through the first hour, and left feeling like maybe I missed the point. Considering the theme Netflix is a Joke, taping throughout Los Angeles this week, perhaps it was meant to spoof the audience. Perhaps too I missed the better second half...dunno. 😔

I was expecting him to interact with the crowd and tell some jokes - totally unexpected. My wife was falling asleep during this - I felt bad for Taking her out to this

Instead it was Chris Rock and a few other actors and actresses reading the "When Harry Met Sally"movie script. It was so lame. Many people were very disappointed and left early as did my wife and I. My biggest regret was that I missed my sons baseball game to see this show. I love Chris Rock. I only wish it was more clear that it was not a stand up comedy show.

I get it’s a table read but the set was unimaginative and unoriginal — clearly (as was stated by Chris Rock) just a means to fulfill a contractual obligation with Netflix. Mad & regretful that I paid near $200 for such a disappointing “performance”. This was my first Netflix is a Joke experience and totally turned me off to future sets.
