John Oliver is an Emmy and Writer's Guild Award-winning writer, comedian, and host of the HBO show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. On his occasional breaks from television, John returns to his first love of stand-up, performing to sold-out venues around the world.
From 2006-2013, he was a correspondent on the multi-award winning The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, guest-hosting the show for two months during Stewart's absence in 2013.
After co-hosting the weekly satirical podcast The Bugle with Andy Zaltzman until 2015 and starring in his first stand-up special John Oliver: Terrifying Times, John went on to host four seasons of his own stand-up series for Comedy Central, John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show, which featured a handpicked selection of his favorite comedians.
Oliver voices the character Zazu in the 2019 Disney film The Lion King and will voice a character in the 2019 Paramount film Amusement Park, following previous guest roles including Danger Mouse, Community, The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2, Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons, The Detour, and Rick & Morty.
Both Oliver and Meyers seemed at the top of their game and seemed to really enjoy the NYeve crowd in Vegas. The Q&A with both on stage together was genuine and the highlight of the show.
I loved the show. Both comedians are even better in person than they are on TV.
A little history...a few jabs and a hilarious monologue! I loved the show.
I don't think anyone who knows Oliver from Last Week Tonight was disappointed with the 90 minute show. Great stuff, as always, with a little GR personalization (Devos, etc.) and a little crowd interaction. Opening act was solid, too.
The show was great, funny from start to finish. Compared to his show it's less current events and more recent past, history, and some personal stories. Really impressed by how well he worked in not only the region and city, but even the venue itself into the act. As usual he clearly did his research. Opener was also great, stories were super relatable and hilarious. Was probably the most courteous crowd of any event I've attended, not including formal affairs like an orchestra. A couple "hecklers"(more like super fans) were met with witty retorts. Definitely not a show for children, and although it wasn't overly political, best to avoid as a group outing for the Michigan Militia.

I was thoroughly entertained. It was everything I wanted from a stand up performance. John Oliver was witty and relatable. I laughed the entire time. Something most of us are in desperate need of.

We always enjoy watching John Oliver on Last Week Tonight and decided to go see his live show at the last minute. He far exceeded our expectations! His enthusiasm and clever dialog did not disappoint, and it was also refreshing that he kept the show largely free of politics. We will definitely see him again next time he is around and highly recommend you do the same. His warm-up comedian was also very good at this event.

Loved the show. So funny…really enjoyed the concessions. Lines weren’t too long. There were plenty of options and even popcorn and roasted nuts. Only thing that was a problem for me was how congested after the lobby was. It was hard to move around with the lack of space. Obviously this is a limitation of the old theatre but just something to consider.
We were very excited to see John Oliver live. Did not disappoint! His opener Brooks Wheeler was great too, he honestly could have stayed on stage a little longer! John had a great show. Had us laughing and enjoying it the whole time! Thanks for a great night of entertainment Brooks and John!

John is absolutely hilarious… Left or right..he’s down the middle in his comedy perfectly.
Oliver’s show should not be missed. Pure joy and chronic laughter. The best!
Sound was awful, barely able to hear vast majority of the show. Fingers crossed it wasn’t the DeVos family trying to silence John 😂
Enjoyed finally getting to see John Oliver perform in-person. Amazing show. So many laughs. His opening act (Brooks Wheelan) was also great. Highly recommend both performers!

John Oliver was indeed witty and funny. We all wanted to hear him bash the big orange baby. That didn’t happen, wanted to hear more political jokes, after all that’s why we started to love him.
Wonderful show. John Oliver is so entertaining!! The audience loved the show and we were so surprised the length of the show. Definitely worth every penny spent to see this show.
