Gov’t Mule stormed the jam band scene in 1994 with a bluesy blend of Southern rock. Guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody originally formed the band as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band. Gov’t Mule's music is defined by its noodling blues-rock jams and Parliament-funk freak-outs. The band’s concerts and tours bring to mind legendary 1960s acts like Cream, Grateful Dead, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Little Feat. Gov’t Mule have been a staple on the summer festival scene since their inception, entertaining college kids and older hippies alike. The mid-1990s represented the height of the jam band circuit, but while other contemporary bands faded away, Gov’t Mule kept on trucking. For the past two decades, Gov’t Mule has been entertaining ticket buyers with good old-fashioned Southern rock and roll, with songs and set lists that seem to rise, swell and go on for hours. Today, Gov’t Mule are one of the last pillars of the jam band scene.
In 2013, Gov’t Mule released the double-album, Shout!, their first LP in four years. Gov’t Mule is always trying to do new things and push the creative envelope, and Shout!'s first disc is entirely new material, while the second disc is comprised of cover versions of the first album's tracks, featuring collaborations with high-profile musicians like Elvis Costello, Ben Harper, Dave Matthews and Steve Winwood. Gov’t Mule has released nine studio albums and several live discs. The band scored its highest chart release with 2006's High & Mighty, which peaked at No. 3 on the U.S. Indie Chart. Gov’t Mule is currently in the midst of the Time to Shout Tour, and fans know the band will be jamming long into 2014 and beyond.
Everything from staff to sound was top notch. The band was excellent and the was venue really nice. The sound was so clear it was crackling. Warren Haynes is fantastic, handling both rhythm and lead flawlessly. Special kudos to the box office for some quick problem solving. Top notch all around.
Amazing show. Incredible musicians. Awesome jams. Definitely look forward to seeing them again.
Venue at the Pearl/Palm casino was great. Concert was fantastic. Both the venue and Govt Mule are worth a trip!
This was my first show at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino. Also, my first Gov't Mule show. The venue was great and their staff were so nice. Gov't Mule were amazing with their take on the blues and rock. I will definitely see them again in the future.
Gov't Mule put on a great concert. I loved the music and the lights were amazing. The venue was good. We had floor seats. My suggestion for improvement is to not have the seats so close together. They are connected together. It is very uncomfortable to be smashed in where you can't move during the concert.
What an amazing show and awesome venue..! Looking forward to seeing another show at the Fox Theatre..!
Warren was shown the way to the crossroads with direction from an angel and a demon. Thanks for absorbing them and letting it all out.

Gov't Mule was amazing live. They played for almost three hours. They played a set of largely their own material, and then came back for a second set of cover songs. It was an impressive display of musicianship.

I went with my son, who is in his late teens and was the youngest there by at least a decade. The audience tended to an older demographic, but that did nothing to stifle the excitement. I enjoyed the first set, which was mostly original songs. I REALLY loved the second set, which was a non-stop jam. Where else can you get a seamless transition from the Dead's Fire on the Mountain to Hunger Strike from Temple of the Dog to the classic Mr. Fantasy? Amazing show.

Gove Mule put on a truly amazing show on 2/17/2024 at Oaklands Fox Theater. The entire show was on point but the second set being all covers really stood out. Great job to Warren Haynes and the band playing without their usual drummer who was under the weather. John Molo did an amazing job filling in as the drummer on this show.
Warren and his band put on their usual fantastic show. The highlight for me was when they did Hunger Strike, Dear Mr. Fantasy Man, and The Joker late in the second set. Always get your money’s worth with this band.
Wonderful show, did not disappoint!! Would pay to go see the same show again. Warren Haynes is an absolutely phenomenal guitar player.
The employees keep things moving everything happens pretty fast (the service) overall a great experience. Hardest part is getting there and no parking
