John Cleese is a fascinating, down to earth and thoughtful man. And he is funny and Clever. His daughter is also a chip off the old block. A really fun evening.
Cleese was brilliant and funny (of course). An unexpected but very welcome bonus was having his daughter host the event. She shares her father's gift for comedy, and it was fascinating to watch the generational dynamic between the two, as she gave as good as she got! The style of humor is a mix of the silly, the intellectual, and stuff that is so cheerfully offensive the joke is that they'd even go there... A meta offensive joke about what offends us. I also enjoyed his masterful insights about what's funny, and what is not. During his half of century of making people laugh, he has learned a lot, and shares it in a pithy and amusing way. Thank you, Mr. Cleese, for sharing a lifetime of laughter with the world.
Not the typical show, although he did tell a round of jokes. It was more of a retrospective on his life and career, with some details probably never heard before. Certainly he still has a lot of wit and a way of telling his story. Even though he showed clips that most of us had seen dozens of times, we laughed hysterically still, and his set up for each really explained more why certain edgy things work more than straightforward humor. In any case, it was a thrill to see in person someone I've watched and admired for probably 48 years.
John Cleese remains on his game at the age of 84. He deftly mixes old Python skits with current topics. Some jokes, while edgy, are presented in such a way that you can’t be offended. A bonus was the appearance of his daughter who is a fine comedian on her own. The second half of the show featured a Q&A, storytelling, and more jokes. A fantastic show!
Enjoyed seeing him very much. Prefer his daughter spent less time on stage and he more. He should've answered more questions from the audience.
My wife and I really enjoyed our evening. It was fun.
YES!!!! It is the famous John Cleese in person! Well-aged and properly presented as his finest current self! This show is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see John Cleese's heartwarming, touching, educational, extraordinary show currently touring the United States. Enjoy the grace of his company in person and buy his exclusive tour merchandise!
I really like John Cleese's performance. He shared many unique stories and fully engaged the audience. You can tell he's been in the business for decades. However his daughter Camille (?) who opened and helped close the show I could only recoil at. She came close so many times to being funny, but then would ruin her momentum with an awkward addition to her joke or story. Tldr: I would pay to see John Cleese again in the future. I would pay to not see Camille again in the future.
The evening was incredible!! Both John and his daughter were hilarious! It really took us back down memory lane as he showed videos and clips and gave us background information! We have not laughed that hard, and that long in years! Can't wait for him to come around again :)
This man will never cease to entertain! He was amazing! The only part of the show I would change would be his opening act. Her jokes were nothing new but John Cleese was awesome! He played to his strengths, taboo and touchy subjects. I'm so glad I got see him! Thank you!
Was sitting next to me during the show. We both enjoyed the Late John Cleese. He’s still somewhat humorous considering he recently returned from the great beyond. A must see if you enjoy your comedy from the great beyond. Bring a wheel of cheese for the Late John Cleese…
John Cleese is still one of the greatest comedians to ever do it. A great show and a great way to spend my evening.
It was very enjoyable evening. I needed some laughs. He was very funny and I enjoyed his insights about humor. His daughter was also hilarious. Go nepo! Imo 5 mins with a great like that would have been worth the time. I liked the remanences and I didn’t know the extent of his work. Looking forward to finding the old stuff to watch. .
I bought tickets for my parents. They said they had a great time and it was a once in a lifetime experience!!! Yay!!!
Mr. Cleese was a gem and his daughter was hilarious as well!
He’s still got it. Funny, timely, irreverent, all the things I have always loved about him.
Great to see the Monty Python Holy Grail icon once again. Daughter did well as opening stand-up & bless JC. Thanks for coming back again.
My complaint is not with John Cleese it is with the venue. The sound system was under powered, which caused us to miss much of the dialog. I've been to the venue before for concerts and I know that they have the watts to produce enough sound for everyone to hear clearly. It seems that they just didn't bother to do a sound check.
This is the third time we have seen him, albeit the first time he was with Eric Idle. Wonderful show, very funny, entertaining, and learned even more about him and the Pythons. And his daughter is a very funny standup comedian.
It was delightful and entertaining. One of the most intimate live shows I’ve seen.
