disappointment :(

Winner of 50 international awards, including the Tony Award®, and one of the biggest hits on Broadway, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
My girls LOVED the movie and book, however the musical was a bit of a disappointment. The plot line in the play had many holes. Seemed a bit "darker" than the movie/book too.
Went to Matilda the Musical hoping it would be as engaging and magical as the movie. I was delighted to see they had lived up to the expectations - and then some! The music, actors, and the beautiful set design was so much fun! You will not be disappointed!
Great show, fantastic score and acting. My 8 year old loved it.
All performers were animated, very energetic, and fun to watch! The children are so talented and all seemed to pour their hearts into the performance. The story line however was slow at times and I would have liked to see a little more variety in the staging/props. Matilda (Gabrielle Guterriez) and Miss Trunchbull (Dan Chameroy were very, very entertaining!
So impressed with this production! Was honestly not expecting the big WOW I got from this show! AMAZING!!!
This was such an amazing show! I took my 11 year old daughter and her friend to see Matilda, and we had a blast! The cast was wonderful and very enthusiastic, I would recommend this for anyone!!
Such a fun production! I was entertained throughout the performance.
Good choreography and some music talent ... it was a good musical. Seats at Orpheum were so uncomfortable though, distracting. I would recommend show but suggest another venue.
I brought my 10 year old Grandson. He was familiar with the author. A little more dramatic than I expected and less action. Fun and creative choreography. Humor was rather dark.
This show was excellent. My 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter both want to be actors now and were very impressed. Absolutely worth seeing.
A great show and everyone must experience it atleast once in their lifetime.
I've been to a Broadway show before, but I forgot how INCREDIBLE they are! Before this show, I was a little skeptical of the large number of young performers and how well they would be able to act/sing/dance. I was BLOWN away. Their ability to do some very energetic dance numbers while singing beautifully was amazing. ESPECIALLY Matilda. The adult actors were SO GOOD!!! They were hilarious, witty, kept you engaged the whole time. I was very impressed with the costumes, props, lighting, etc. It was an all around wonderful show that I would recommend to anyone, especially those who have a love for the book.
Music was great..sets were creative. Loved the dance teacher..he added a great flair and fun to the scenes he was in! Thoroughly enjoyed everything. The venue was good as well. We enjoyed sitting on the courtyard having a glass of wine before the show.
Peformances were great but the adaptation fell short
Everything was spectacular! The actress who played Matilda was incredible. The music, dancing, and costumes were excellent. I was very impressed with the scenery, as it was creative and instrumental to the success of the show.
We left at intermission and considered leaving from the opening scene! I took my young granddaughters to what I thought would be a good, uplifting and fun play for young children. It was completely opposite! DISAPPOINTING! The attitude of the show was demeaning, the language was appalling, the dances were sexualized.... totally unnecessary for what should have been a wholesome kids show.
I completely recommend this show- kids were talented and the set design was great.
The show was very enjoyable, great music and performance!
We were blown away by the talent of Matilda! Loved every minute!
Good movement, music, story telling. Actors cared enough to animate the characters.
