Holding onto hope when times are tough can take an awful lot of determination, and sometimes, an awful lot of determination comes in a surprisingly small package. Little Orphan Annie has reminded generations of theatergoers that sunshine is always right around the corner, and now the best-loved musical of all time is set to return in a new production - just as you remember it and just when we need it most.
Annie, directed by Jenn Thompson, features the iconic book and score, written by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. This celebration of family, optimism and the American spirit remains the ultimate cure for all the hard knocks life throws your way.

It has been many years since I last saw Annie in person with my children. This time with my Grand Children both 9 & 10 the show was wonderful. Maybe the 8th row tickets made all the difference in the world. We could see every expression nd the sound at the WANG is always great. Superb cast. Thanks & would highly recommend.
This was the most enjoyable musical! WOW the actors were fantastic. The whole play was mind blowing. The orphans played their roles perfectly wonderful. Still talking about it!
I took my granddaughter to Annie. She loved it! Cast was very good!
I'm not going to pretend to be a theatre officiando, which is why I'm confused. I've always loved the Annie movie and soundtrack. I've introduced my 7 year old daughter to it so when we saw this show we excitedly bought tickets. Everyone there, that I saw, came with young kids. This show started at 7:30 and didn't end until after 10pm. My kid slept through the second half. For a show meant for kids, why did it start late and run so long?? Also, I was surprised at what a diminished role the child actors had. Some of my favorite songs and scenes were cut and the ones that were added were boring. A waxing solo by Warbucks while Annie sits and stares? No thanks. A funny, delightful back and forth with Warbucks and Hannigan- cut. The whole second half dragged. There was no character development, and no chemistry between Warbucks and Annie. They met in one scene, where he was completely disinterested in her, and in the next scene he wanted to adopt her which felt really creepy, honestly. They cut the entire scene at the movies. It felt like they were trying to minimize the kids and create more spotlight for the adults in the show, though the strongest adult performer was the one who played Grace and they diminished her role as well as her romance with Warbucks. Overall I found it choppy and lacking the charm of the 1980s classic. The best scene was the Hard Knock Life song and choreography right as the beginning. It went increasingly downhill from there. Oh well.
Loved the show and had an amazing time. The cast was superb; Ms. Hannigan and Annie roles were stellar. Wish I had a physical program.
Loved the performance. I was so impressed with the voices of the children.
My son and I love Annie and have seen the movies over and over. Yes the play is different than the movie we understand that. I would have loved to hear more of the music people love from the movies. The changes to the ending and the elimination of characters who are movie favorites were not great choices. Still it’s a fun show for families.

The performance was great but in my seat, I had a balustrade that took away the visibility of part of the stage. They could have warned me that it was a reduced visibility entrance.
Surpassed my expectations! Relived the 1982 Annie! 100% recommended!
I wS so excited to take my daughter to see Annie. She loved every single minute of it.
We took orur grandchildren to the show and they loved. And we loved that they have booster seats for kids to see over taller adults
I had a great time watching Annie. The actors did a fantastic job. I brought along my overseas friend who had never seen it before. She loved it!
Seeing the touring show of ANNIE last week in Boston at the Wang Theatre was a treat for me and my grandchildren. From "Sandy"...to Annie and including all the other performers...the singing, dancing and acting was fabulous. The uplifting moral of the story never goes out of style. I was reminiscing about when I took my now 40-something year old sons to see ANNIE as their first live musical show. They still remember sitting on the bumper seats for a better view!! My only disappointment was the restless activity of the audience. People were constantly up and down the aisles, purchasing food. It was very distracting for me and my grandchildren...and some key moments on stage were missed. My suggestion would be to only sell food before the show and during intermission.
Fantastically talented actors. Beautifully done. The lead actress was amazing as were all the young girls in the troop. The adults were terrific and pertty perfect but the one found oneself waiting for the girls to come back and Annie herself seemed to command the state whenever on it. Having seen many Broadway shows over many years that included top actors and singers, I found these people at the highest level. They were very studied to the extent that they made it look easy. Highly recommended. The two boys (7 and 12) that were with us were mesmerized and impressed.
Incredible vocals. She is extremely engaging and outrageously funny. Highly recommend at least seeing her once in your life .
The musical never gets old! It is such a beautiful heartwarming story which ive seen a few times This cast was superb! My only disappointment- we had nice orchestra seats, but they were $100 more per person than the people directly in back of us so as a senior citizen, the tickets were very very expensive
The entire show was great. All the children did an incredible job and Annie was amazing. The entire show was wonderful and the Dog was the highlight. This was the first time we saw a play at The National Theater and will be the last. Seating is so tight and difficult for children to see the performance. This is my only reason for not giving 5 stars.
Excellent performance by all! My kids ages 7 and 11 loved every bit of it.
