    Movie Night was a blast!

by R. Wick on 8/16/22Las Vegas Ballpark - Las Vegas

We really enjoyed spending Friday night at the baseball stadium watching The Sandlot. We lucked out with perfect weather. Love that we can take blankets in and lay out on the field, which feels very special considering it is maintained so beautifully. Super nice baseball park! Only issue or downside to the night was the very minimal food offerings, compared to a regular game night at the stadium. Would really have liked more than the basics, but it won't keep us from attending the next movie night. Super fun and laid back with the kids!

The kids had fun running around on the field and we enjoyed a relaxing fun family movie night outside. We hope they show more movies on the field!!

This was a great time. The Las Vegas Ballpark should actually have more events such as this. The outdoor setting is fabulous.

    Wonderful Family Fun

    by D. H. on 8/3/22Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

I saw The Sandlot at the beautiful Tennessee Theater with my daughter. The theater organist played some songs that are in the movie, which set the tone for the movie. The movie is set in the 1950's, a time of innocence for children, Americana, with freedom to be outside, ride bikes, play baseball, and use your imagination. Eight neighborhood boys play baseball play together, sharpening their skills, working together as a team without even keeping score. A young boy moves into the neighborhood and doesn't have skills to play baseball, but joins as the 9th player. The best player on the team decides to help him, and the movie continues with themes and messages of lifting others up, teamwork, working hard for what you want, creativity, patriotism, ingenuity, coming of age, heroes, and having fun. The clothes worn, cars, language used, food, slang, even architecture were period authentic, which added nostalgia and realism to the movie. Patriotism and love of baseball! It was a delightful movie. Everyone clapped at the end. I wish we had more like this!

We LOVED the movie and experience at the Tennessee Theater!

by Carolina Girl on 8/3/22Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Despite it being nearly 30 years old, I had never seen "The Sandlot'. Kind of reminiscent of "A Christmas Story" as it is told from the adult's point of view (and in his voice) of his childhood experiences. Very fun and touching film. And watching it in the historic Tennessee Theatre was a real treat. We especially loved the organist playing songs to warm up the crowd prior t the movie. It was wonderful!
