Patti Smith rocked with me since 1978, and still rocking at 77 yr old , I’m 64 and nothing more that a experiencing extraordinary experience with Patti Smith , every show is powerful and pleasant
I saw Patti some years ago in Milwaukee and she was awesome the. Last Wednesday's concert was an equally. wonderful experience. She and her band are consummate professionals. A wide array of her best songs were played during the show and the tributes that were made to Shane Mcgowan and Sinead O'Conner were truly touching moments. She spoke fondly of her husband Fred "Sonic"Smith and the exchanges she made with the audience were humorous. During a lengthy guitar duet with her son Jackson and Tony S. they snuck a bit of "Fairytale of New York"in and it was pretty cool how they pulled it off. I'm not sure everyone recognized that little feature, but I did. I had never been to the Salt Shed before and I was impressed with its layout and staff. That was a must see show for me and I'm glad I made the trip.
The line to get in to the venue needs to be worked out; it takes too long to get into the venue. It was cold, but rain would have been much worse. Once inside, though, the venue is really nice! A few shops, a Salt Shed merch shop and drinks. The two bars outside the hall were adequately staffed and the line moved pretty quickly. GOOD choice of drinks and craft beer. The bar inside the hall was convenient as well. I got a GA ticket and stood in the worst spot on the floor for most of the show and it was still great. Good line of sight and good acoustics. Patti Smith and her band put on a really good show. Filled two hours with great music and attitude. She is a treasure for my generation; I dont know who will carry that on into the current music scene. I hope I have the chance to see her again. I'm looking forward to my next show at the Shed - Black Pumas in January!
This was my fifth or sixth time seeing Patti, and the first time that I actually got to sit down! The Salt Shed is such a great venue to see a concert and Patti Smith never fails to rock. What a great show!
It was an amazing performance by the legend who is Patti Smith. The set spanned her career while featuring an incredible band that featured life long collaborator Lenny Kaye who celebrated his 77th birthday. If you weren’t there you wished you were.
. Poignant, moving experience. And the Salt Shed venue most impressive. Personable, helpful staff (and I spoke to a few of them from security, bar, janitorial). Everyone had a great vibe from the stage to the back of the house.
Chicago seems to always get an extra special powerful performance from our Queen and this one was no exception… and on Lenny Kaye’s 77TH Birthday!!! Lenny Tony & the BAND were excellent and great to see Patti feeling better
Transcendent. Patti Smith is superb. I first saw her in 1975 on her Horses tour. She’s always so genuine and brings 100% to her performances. One for the ages.
Patti is an icon and her show proved that. Great performance at a great venue. Thank you Patti!
It's hard to believe that Patti Smith will be 77 this weekend! She preformed and sang at the top of her game! What an amazing preformer and person! She gives me hope.
