MY SECOND REUNION SHOW AFTER 2009 AND IT IS STILL MIND BLOWING! AND AFTER THE UK DATES, PROBABLY NEVER AGAIN! SEE YOU AT IAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY JUNE 3rd AT NY CITY WINERY!
Very high energy show. Enjoyed very much. Only thing is Ian Hunter could have been more prominent in the mix. Would definitely recommend.
This was such a special show that it's kinda hard to encapsulate all the emotion in the room that night within a two paragraph review but I'll try. When MTH broke big in '73/'74 a lot of us were too young to experience them live so for the past 45 years we had to be satisfied with the concert images in our imaginations while playing their records. Now transported back in time we were finally able to realize a dream come true. Watching the smiles on the faces of the band members as well as the audience throughout the night was both recognition and confirmation that this was indeed a once in a lifetime moment. Thank you Ian, Luther and Morgan (along with the legendary Rant band) for giving us the remarkable gift of revisiting our youth.
this band has been MIA for the past 40 yrs...they have a revitalized-invigorating set of good-time rock n. roll...this was one of of only 8 dates they would play and I'm glad I was able to catch them! widh't opener Dream syndicate could have played more than their scant 7 song set....just say'n
Best show I’ve seen in a long time . Mott rocked in classic 70’s rock and roll style , almost Stones like .
It was a once in a lifetime show for me as the last time they performed in the U.S. was 45 years ago. Great performance from a bunch of old geezers. Lol. Probably never happen again. Only issue was before the show. The venue waited til 5 minutes before the doors opened to come out and reorganized the lines that were already forming on the sidewalk out front, causing unneeded confusion.
I became a fan of Mott The Hoople when I first heard a friend play The Hoople album. I wanted so badly to see them back in 1974 with Queen at the Uris in NYC. At the time I was too young to get into the city then. So when I heard about them coming back after 45 years I had to go. I was so glad I did the performance from these guys was just awesome. The band did a excellent job presenting the old songs. Ian Hunter sounded great and the rest of the band shined throughout each song played that night. Only downside for the night was the 2 talking guys sitting next to me in the upper balcony. I wish people who would talk all the way thru The Wallflowers performance would just stay home. People pay good money and do not need to be entertained by talkers with nothing important to say. Long Live Mott The Hoople and hope they return back to the states again. I would love to hear them play the full album of The Hoople next time around.
The band was on 🔥. They were as good as they were back in the day!
These young dudes were famous in the Seventies. Now in their Seventies they are even better than back then. The band play with super energy prancing around the stage, laughing and joking. Lots of great lighting, showmanship and memorable music. Don't miss them if they are over your way.
Ian Hunter was super energized and appeared half his age in terms of enthusiasm and exuberance. I cannot overstate how impressive Ian is for a man 80 years old as he moved about the stage and basked in the glow of a highly enthusiastic crowd. Mott The Hoople featuring Ian Hunter, Morgan Fisher and Ariel Bender performed at peak levels at the Beacon Theatre on April 10th and it was clear that Ian Hunter was really enjoying working with his old friends Morgan and Ariel again. He would be wise to consider doing so since it affected him so deeply and positively. The crowd picked up on the high level of performance and enthusiasm from Ian, Morgan and Ariel to make a great night. Beacon Theatre is a great concert hall and a wonderful place to see a show. It may be helpful for the facility to continue to be vigilant with folks who want to stand in the aisles taking photos and watching the show. All in all it was a superb Mott The Hoople show and a fantastic facility to see it. Thank you so much!
