This was mind blowing and beautiful. I hate joining mailing lists but I exuberantly joined Manual Cinema’s because if they come back I’m bringing all my friends and family. Everything was so well timed and exquisitely thought out. This is what true care and talent looks like. Every part and person was impressive. I’d see this show again tomorrow! In fact, can they adopt me? Take me in tour? I’m useful!
Manual Cinema is a delight for audiences of any age. We’ve seen their productions of “Frankenstein” twice now a year apart and while different each time they both “worked” spectacularly. What was special the second time was that after the show they invited the audience up on stage to meet the actors, puppeteers and musicians, see how they put the show together and to take “selfies” of themselves with the sets and puppets.
So different than anything we have seen before. I will be on the lookout for more of their shows.
I have always loved the story of Frankenstein. So, when I read about the upcoming Manual Cinema performance in Seattle, I was intrigued. My son is 14 and an aspiring actor so I wanted to share this experience with him. To call a Manual Cinema show immersive is an understatement. The audience is made to feel as though they are an integral part of the show. The technique used by the performers is engaging, hilarious, spellbinding, and heartbreaking in its unique storytelling method. I felt as though I had lived through the life of Mary Shelley and her creations. I look forward to seeing more from this talented troupe. This was a night at the theater like no other.
This was such a wonderful and unique experience. My family loved the show, and we really appreciated the opportunity to participate in the Q&A session afterward. Thanks for the cast and crew for making the trip back to Seattle. We hope to see you again soon.
A tight & fascinating production using actors, 500 puppets, video, and a live band. I wished it had gone on longer because I was enjoying it so much!
Bring the fam, bring your friends or go alone! This is a meeting of all the beautiful aspects film and art can bring you. Watch a movie be made right in front of you! It’s a play, an art installation and a movie all wrapped up in one! Highly recommended and would be remiss to not see a performance if in your village one day.
The coordination music and visuals and more were so amazing. It was not like anything i have ever seen. Go see anything done by Manual Cinema! 5 stars!
