About

Josh Groban is an American crossover vocalist and songwriter covering classical, contemporary and pop styles. Josh enjoyed tremendous chart and critical success almost from the very start of his career with numerous gold- and platinum-selling records and worldwide tours in the 10-plus years he has been on the world stage. Blessed with a highly versatile voice that can range from upper baritone into the tenor range, Josh's unquestionably impressive vocals has made him one of the most popular crossover classical singers of the last 20 years.

He was born in 1981 in Los Angeles and attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before being offered a place at prestigious Carnegie Mellon University. While studying he was introduced to award-winning music producer David Foster, who invited the talented singer to work with him. After a number of stand-in roles, he impressed everyone he worked with and was signed to Warner Brothers and soon found himself on tour with Sarah Brightman. He featured on her DVD La Luna and quickly found himself in high demand. With the vocal ability to sing the classics as well as more contemporary and pop-styled songs, he was able to work with people like Elton John, Charlotte Church and Stevie Wonder, further stretching his talents and range.

By 2002 his self-titled debut album had gone double-platinum and he was appearing at events like the Nobel Peace Prize Concert and the Vatican Christmas Performance, alongside artists such as Sting, Celine Dion and Ronan Keating. His 2006 song “You Raise Me Up” won Josh his first Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and his third album, Awake, went double-platinum in both the USA and Canada. In 2007 Josh took part in a tour that brought him to 71 different cities around the world, truly establishing him as a worldwide vocal star.

His 2010 album Illuminations was another big hit and contained 11 songs written by Josh himself. It reached number four on the US Billboard chart and once again sold more than million copies in the USA. His 2013 album All That Echoes jumped straight into the Billboard Chart at No. 1. Josh has made a number of live appearances in front of huge crowds, such as his live TV special on PBS, the NFL Super Bowl and performing at the Concert For Diana at Wembley Stadium.

  • TOO SHORT

by Jeff on 10/16/25Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Concert much too short. Groban came on stage at 8:40 PM and we were all leaving Tillis Center at 9:50 PM NO encore, as I said concert should have been at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours.

  • Josh Groban & Tilles Center - Long Island

by Grobanite-CNC on 10/14/25Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show and the orchestra seat was perfect. It would have been nice if the show was longer because this man is profoundly talented and has the voice of an angel. His cover of "Over the Rainbow"was dreamy and brought back childhood memories. Mr. Groban never disappoints, whether it's a ballad, or a pop song or somewhere in between, he is a consummate entertainer and his repartee between songs is delightful. As to the venue, the staff was friendly, informed and kind. I arrived 4 hours early hoping to catch a glimpse of Mr. Groban and perchance, get to take a photo with him but it did not happen (sad)... security was tight! That was okay; I understand the need. Soooo, I went over to the student center and purchased an all-you-can-eat ticket and waited there with a colleague. When I returned there was a delay in opening the theatre doors, but that was okay too. I understood the need for setting everything up perfectly and was happy to be the first on line. It was a full house and the audience responded favorably to this genuinely gifted performer. The evening went wonderfully and hopefully, someday I will get the chance to meet him personally. :-)

  • Disappointed ….

by Kathy on 10/14/25Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Very disappointed. Josh played for only an hour and 20 mins. He didn’t even sing any of his signature material……

  • Always a heartwarming experience

by Always a heartwarming experience on 10/14/25Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Josh Groban is a real class act. In every show he performs, he looks professional, gives it his best, and warms the hearts of everyone in the audience. His beautiful songs, paired with his baritone voice, are a combination that I have cherished since I first heard his voice 20+ years ago.

  • Underwhelmed

by Gus on 10/14/25Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The venue’s sound system needs an upgrade. The number of musicians was small but outstanding. Being a musician myself the lack of a “ bass “ player was notable. Josh Groban was fantastic he just needed a larger band….drums, Percussion, French horn etc.
