    Hmmm....

by LM on 3/24/24Lincoln Theatre - Washington

What was happening? Chaotic is the best word I can come up with. The sound wasn't done very well and I was struggling to hear what was being said. May have been better with an MC to guide transitions. Introducing the chefs at the end was nice, but should have had all their restaurants highlighted. Glad I went, but glad I didn't pay for it!

    Winged it and it showed

by TMS on 3/24/24Lincoln Theatre - Washington

Unscripted which is fine but what was the point of this other than to push merchandise? Oddly political but no one seemed to know what was happening. As charming as Chef Adres is, this was kind of a joke.

    More José, less “guests”

by Undecided on 3/24/24Lincoln Theatre - Washington

Venue is great - lovely setup. Disappointed in amount of time spent talking about politics because I bought a ticket to see Jose and thought his “‘friends” would be from the dc restaurant scene. I should have known in dc that’s part of the package. Would have loved to hear more about the work of WCK!

    Force of nature

by Ron on 3/24/24Lincoln Theatre - Washington

Jose’ Andres is truly a force of nature. He whirlwinds through the program like a heavy storm. Great guests and the highlight in the end with a lot of DC chefs on stage. Audio could have been better, sometimes people were hard to understand. But all in all a good experience, especially for somebody who has been a World Central Kitchen volunteer!

    Amazing

by annemarie on 3/24/24Lincoln Theatre - Washington

The event was clearly unrehearsed and somewhat chaotic. It couldn't have been more fun. He is like the Energizer bunny. Can't read his cue cards - doesn't matter. He adlibs it. His guests were amazing. How many people can get Nancy Pelosi to do a walk-on? His choice to bring all those other great chefs on stage was a lovely way to say thank you. and Phyllis Richmond was just the cherry on top. I will keep my eye out for any other event with Jose Andres in the future.

My wife and I have been looking forward to hearing him speak and were encouraged and pleased with the detail he used to explain the tremendous scope of his enterprise.
