The enthusiasm and energy put forth by the members made this a very memorable occasion. The variety of the music and the expertise of the soloists enhanced the performance to make this an unforgetable experience. I will make every effort to see the Dirty Projectors whenever they are in my area. A full five stars in my opinion!
I thought that their live performance wouldn't be as good as their album because of they way they sing and play guitar. I'm glad I was wrong!! Very pretty people in this band too.
Fantastic!!!.... Way too many music!!!... In just two hours!!....
One of the BEST live shows you'll ever see! They sound EXACTLY like they do on record.
The vocals of the Dirty Projectors are harmonic, sometimes dissonant, beautiful and mysterious. The insturmental dexterity is unconventional. In combining the two the Dirty Projectors project their brilliant vision into a musical future of unique sound and rhythem. In concert they are amazing and mesmerizing- I can't wait to see them again!
The dirty projectors are a fun and interesting band to listen to - a unique sound, strong songwriting, and beautiful harmonies. I was aware from friends that they are a good band to see live, but actually seeing them still blew me away. The band is very tight musically, and while they don't try to blow you away with visuals, experiencing their songs live breathes all kinds of energy into them. Most people would not consider them dance music by any means, but they had me moving the whole time (but that is also just me - I like to feel the music). Highly recommended, but only if you are familiar with the band - the songs are better if you can sing along and comprehend and feel the meaning of the clever lyrics.
this was definitely one of the greatest live performances i've ever seen. I didn't expect anything less from the Dirty Projectors, but i was in awe when i was actually there experiencing it first hand. we arrived at the fox at about 7:45 and had no trouble at all getting to the very front of the crowd. everybody was in such a good mood after the show, and those good moods were definitely contagious.
Dirty Projectors are always amazing. The Fox is a beautiful theatre with decent sound. The opener Wye Oak was horribly boring, incredibly loud and the sound during their set was relatively awful. Other than that and spending $7 per beer I would have to say this show was completely awesome.
This is the third time I've seen them and the third venue I've seen them at, and it was the best performance yet.
