David Wilcox is a delightful performer!

    by tommequilts2 on 11/4/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

I bought a David Wilcox CD in about 1990, and was instantly captivated by his mellow voice, captivating melodies, and thoughtful lyrics. He's continued to evolve and has become a master musician and poet. One of the things I enjoy the most is his guitar tunings - I've never seen anyone else, ever, tune like he does. He uses an unusual capo that leaves the lower string free so it ends up an octave (or two) lower than the other strings - makes the sound so rich and deep. I love to hear the stories behind his songs, and enjoy his humor. He puts on a truly delightful show.

    David Wilcox Is a Master

by JULIANDRAKEUKULELEMAN on 10/4/11Gordon Center for Performing Arts - Owings Mills

We've been listening to David Wilcox for over 20 years. We've had the pleasure of watching him develop his musical stylings over the years, and master his technique with all of his unique tunings and deep, rich chord arrangements. He is a wonderful songwriter and a wonderful performer, and you can't possibly go wrong seeing his show.

    The Event

Outstanding! Susan was a true find. The format that David changed up worked well. Let's do it again next time...

David Wilcox and Susan Werner were amazing. My first time hearing either one. My sister's talked me into going and I am so glad. It was my first concert in years and I really enjoyed it.

David Wilcox: Each Show is a New Experience

by Salgaelsol on 2/14/11Aladdin Theater - Portland

I think this was my 7th David Wilcox show - the other 6 being in Boulder, Denver and Fort Collins, CO. I love how seemlessly he weaves songs, stories and anecdotes, all in service to the Song as vehicle through the highways and back alleys of the human experience. I really enjoyed how, rather than have Susan Werner as "Opening Act", they took the stage together, engaging in a musical dialogue, one Werner song, a song response from Wilcox, etc. The only drawback to this format was that Werner, who I wasn't familiar with, however thoroughly enjoyed, definitely had more "stage time" than a traditional opening act slot would have allowed, leaving less time for the songs and stories of David Wilcox, who I was really there to see.....however, all in all, it was a WONDERFUL show, and the Aladdin is a great little venue. Also, the show went well past 11:00; 3 hours of solid music, after deducting for the intermission.

    David Wilcox Live

by Nuitmage on 1/14/11Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Just heard from my son (who actually saw the show) and he said it was phenomenal. He sat by a couple who flew in from Arizona, just to see him live, and all of them had a great time. Although I was originally planning to go with him, a last minute change prevented me, and my son kept telling me how sorry he was--he was so happy to be there and finally see this artist live (he first heard his music more than 20 years ago; a song I had been given by a friend). According to him, everyone in the place had a great time and could not have been happier with the event (unless it had lasted longer, maybe).

    David Wilcox creates human connection

by Sharayah on 1/14/11Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

My fiance' and I really enjoyed ourselves at the recent David Wilcox Show at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. It is mezmerizing to watch him perform. He plays one hell of a guitar and has the most beautiful voice I've heard in a long time. He has phenomenal stage presence and really lets you see his child like nature. His music and great sense of humor allow him to connect every single person in the audience and you can feel your heart open wide with pleasure. I will continue to see him as the years pass. His songs are intelligent, spiritual, and deeply moving to the core of your soul. I weep constantly when he sings because he connects me to a deeper part of myself that is lost or disconnected. BRAVO for David Wilcox. His voice and music is changing the world one song at a time.

    Great Show!

Awesome Show. Both are very accomplished song writers and guitarists with their own unique style and they complemented each other quite nicely!
