    American Treasure

    by Mitch Flip on 8/20/23

Outstanding show with top quality musicians who obviously love their craft. The band was having fun, had a great light stage atmosphere, but seriously great music. Dave's writing, playing, and on-stage decorum really show why he is an American Treasure. Jimmy is a great in his own right and pedigree, and the bond between the two is palpable. Chris and Brad were excellent, and I think Brad had as much fun as most of the audience - and Lisa, what can I say - superb as always, and IMO - the hardest working woman in rock. Pure class all the way around!!

    David and Jimmie

Loved this concert. David Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore were incredible, fronting a fantastic band. The Birchmere was a perfect venue.

    DAVE’S BACK

    by Marie Marie on 8/19/23

Went to the show concerned that Dave’s recent health challenges might affect his playing. HARDLY. He ripped on his guitar just like the old days. Jimmy was terrific as was their accomplished band - especially Lisa on drums. Fantastic show.

    Phenomenal performance

    by sportsgal on 8/19/23

Dave Alvin is a master on the guitar and Jimmie Dale Gillmore rocked the harmonica. They have great stage presence, engaged with the audience, and made us laugh. The band backing them up had an amazing percussionist. Top notch concert.

    Great music

    by D. H. on 3/15/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

The music, musicianship and overall performance of the artists was excellent. Veteran professionals! Venue was OK but getting a bit long in the tooth. Excessive delay between the warm-up act and the featured artists was not acceptable, though. We were getting concerned that the show might not go onstage

Dave Alvin and Jimmy Dale Gilmore 3/4/23

    by Blanchy on 3/8/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

Great show by Dave, Jimmy Dale and their band. Nice small venue. A couple of criticisms. 1. Very uncomfortable seating. Not sure it could be mad worse. In addition, sears were crammed together. Way too tight. 2. Not sure why it took an hour between the opening act and Dave and JDG. The stage was ready for a half hour and all we could do is wait in the very uncomfortable seats.

    Rialto for the first time

Saw Dave Alvin and the show was good. A little too hillbilly rock for me but the venue was great!

The best concert I have seen in a long time

    by BykerBob on 3/7/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

First I am 70 y/o and have been to many concerts and saw many artists. But Dave Alvin and Jimmy Dale Gilmore are now my number 1 concert. These 2 are a match made in heaven and interaction with the band was a highlight. Will gladly see again. And patiently waiting for new album.

We could tell this was the end of a tour

    by SallyG on 3/7/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

My husband and I really like Jimmie Dale and Dave Alvin. We saw them in concert in 2019 and they were terrific. This time, sorta meh...sorta mailing it in. Plus there was a 45 minute wait between the end of the warm up band and their appearance on stage. Very frustrating. So, 3 stars because, hey Jimmie Dale and Alvin. But would we go to see them again, no.
