Champions day is too benign. It needs a more impactful name like Secretariat’s day or legacy day or something that points to the importance of what the history of the track is. Champions day is too blah.
Poor food choice for vegetarians. Very limited choice of food and drink. Ticket price led me to believe that choices were unlimited but they definitely were not. Quality of food was poor. Would not choose this option if I were to visit the Derby again. Totally overrated and overpriced. The service by the waiters and bar staff was excellent.
From the time I entered Churchill Downs on Champions Day it was wonderful! Every staff member of the track was friendly and just as excited to be there as I was. The whole day was magical, amazing, and I am so glad I didn't miss it.
