About

Country group Big & Rich hit the big time when “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” off their triple-platinum 2004 debut became a Top 40 hit.The song outlnined the duo’s arrival in Nashville and was featured in commercials during the 2004 World Series of Poker and Super Bowl XLI, garnering the band further attention after appearing in the video game Karaoke Revolution Country. Big & Rich’s fan base is so widespread that 2014 tour dates only sell a limited amount of tickets per individual. Peoria, Illinois, will be welcoming the country duo to Ravina on the Lakes in July 2014. America’s Technicolor cowboys provide plenty of party songs while on tour, including “Party Like Cowboyz” and "Get Your Game On." Interspersed throughout the concert are socially conscious ballads, such as "Last Words," John Rich’s description of "Roy Orbison meets Queen."

John Rich was one of the original members of country band Lonestar before meeting Hollywood Records solo artist Kenny Alphin (Big Kenny) in a club. They collaborated on writing the song, “I Pray for You,” in 1998 and started MuzikMafia (Musically Artistic Friends in Alliance). Both John and Big Kenny participate in worthwhile philanthropy projects, including performing in a 2006 benefit concert for construction of the 173rd Airborne Memorial, which was later turned into a documentary. The concert's Vietnam-era song, “8th of November,” was recorded in 2007. Big & Rich are still spending plenty of time in the studio and plan to release their fifth album in 2014. The duo’s hard work has paid off with nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year in 2012 and 2013. "We continue to try to inspire," says Kenny. "We just try to be ourselves in a world that sometimes insinuates you shouldn't go outside the boundaries.”

  • Big & Rich Rockin’ For Charity

by B & R Fan on 10/17/25Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Didn’t realize this was going to be an acoustic set until I got to the small intimate venue. Glad B & R played some of their favorites that aren’t on the radio and some that are including fan favorites ‘Coming to Your City’ and ‘Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy’. Great to see them do this show for “free” and help out a great cause.

  • Disappointed!

by peaches on 10/17/25Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - TampaRating: 2 out of 5

This was sold as a Big & Rich concert for a charity. OK so was expecting a concert with a band. Nope. Got two singers, J Rich and Big Kenny who are good singers but there was no band accompanying them. They sang all of 5 or 6 songs and talked a lot. Not what I expected and if it was advertised as such I would not have purchased tickets. Ok the money went to a charity i don't begrudge that but this should have not been sold to the public as a "concert"because it was not. Very disappointing evening.

  • Big & Rich

by MSV on 8/27/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - LedyardRating: 4 out of 5

While I thought the concert was OK, I was disappointed that they really didn't play many of their own songs. I was also disappointed that they were more pop versions than original versions. They played other artists songs. If I wanted to hear other artists I would go see them. Everyone sounded great! Love Gretchen Wilson but I think she only sang like 2 songs. Shortest concert I have ever gone to that wasn't free.

Was a true patriot concert who they named veterans, played songs about our freedom it was so awesome and would love to see them again. The beginning of the show was upbeat and had us dancing and singing and was like that all thru the concert . Loved the concert

  • Cranked up too loud for that small venue

by Kate on 8/20/24The Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino - VeronaRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was way too loud. They had the base so loud you couldn’t even understand what the band members were saying when they spoke. $12 for a beer was way out of site when you could buy one on the casino floor for $5.

  • Amazing

by Amanda on 8/20/24The Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino - VeronaRating: 5 out of 5

Such amazing entertainers. I didn't know a lot or their older songs (I'm 31) but I had a BLAST because they were so entertaining. I wish newer performers could put on half as good of a show like them!!!

  • It was ok

by Linda on 8/20/24The Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino - VeronaRating: 3 out of 5

The show only lasted 2 hours, which for the price i thought was kind of short. Also the venue closed down all the drinks and food an hour into the show. Could not even get a drink of water. When I did order water, and 2 cocktails, they took the lid off the water bottle so i spilled 1/2 of everything going back to my seat. The show was pretty good, they did a lot of mash-ups of other groups music, would have been nice to hear more original songs.
