    CSO- amazing!

by TonySD on 6/1/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

This was my first orchestral concert with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and the event was outstanding. The staff was courteous and helpful, the facility was impressive, and the concert was incredible.

    Mostly great

by KFisher on 5/31/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The first half was wonderful - great selections of music. The second half left much to be desired. The Skyliners may have been fine in their day, but their "hits" were unknowns except for one. And not an Elvis song to be heard. A great program idea, but a little disappointing.

    Beethoven's Ninth is nirvana

by NYandTX on 5/31/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The colorado symphony and chorale's performance of Beethoven's Ninth was an uplifting and transcending experience. You just close your eyes and let the music wash over you. the first piece performed was pure torture to sit through. I did not care at all for the "Transmigration of souls". There was no music there.

    The 9th was unbelievable!

by washprk2010 on 5/30/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

I've never been to a performance where on the last note, the ENTIRE audience without exception leaped out of their chairs screaming and gave a 25 minute standing ovation. It was the most moving performance that either of us has seen. BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!!

    Beethoven's 9th -- EPIC!

by ChrisWarren on 5/30/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Colorado Symphony Orchestra's performance of Beethoven's 9th was simply epic. Flawlessly and powerfully performed throughout, this performance helps put an exclamation point on Jeffrey Kahane's career with the CSO. Orchestra, soloists, and chorus were brilliant in honoring one of Beethoven's, and classical music's, finest works. Bravo!

    CSO: Beethoven Symphony No 9

by bdingman on 5/29/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The show was absolutely amazing! The CSO is always great and with a choir of approximately 400 people, this performance was incredibly powerful. We'll miss Jeffrey Kahane!!

    Proud of Our Symphony!

by Libra48 on 5/29/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Simply put, I love the CSO. Good seats, great price. Exciting chorus and magnificent orchestra. Did I say I love the CSO and Beethoven. Appreciated the skill of the first part of the program, and I need to hear it again to fully savor.

    Beethoven Symphony # 9

by Anonymous on 5/29/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

How do you describe it??? Amazing. We were in Orchestra 1, Row C which is the first row against the stage. We could touch the strings. Phenomenal. Still trying to get over being blown away. Jeffrey Kahane- a master. We could see his expressions and his moves. If I didn't know better I would say I was watching Beethoven himself.

The first piece was, uh, interesting. A little weird for my tastes, but interesting. I enjoyed all the percussion and the little organ. The Beethoven was superb! I thoroughly enjoyed every note! I wish the CSO would do all nine symphonies in a season sometime. I love Beethoven and could absolutely revel in a Beethoven festival!

My daughter (5) and I thoroughly enjoyed this! It was a perfect children's event. It is the most magical experience to listen to and feel the energy of the symphony and the Enchantment Theatre Company was the icing on the cake! We would love to make this an annual event in our lives!

    half good - half bad

by youaskedforit on 5/24/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The first half of the concert was fantastic even though Hamlisch couldn't conduct. The second half with the specialty group was rather boring and from where I sat (by the trumpets) the sound was awful.

    Scheherazade

by Zaynab on 5/24/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Our family homeschools and we have been studying Eastern Hemisphere this year. One of the books we read was Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher and Aladdin and other Favorite Areabian Nights Stories. Shadow Spinner is about Scheherazade, so we were able to put together the acting along with the music. It was wonderful. My child new exactly what was going on with the Enchantment Theatre Co. and the music was fabulous. Great Fieldtrip.

One of the BESt productions we've seen on "OLDIES"

by LipsandFaces on 5/23/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Even though Marvin Hamlisch was not available, it was a great performance by the symphony and by the group the SKYLINERS! We were nearly dancing in the isles! I hope that you will schedule more concerts such as this for those of us who remember what good music we grew up and danced to!

    Sock Hop Fifties was Nifty!

by CBEvergreen on 5/23/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Great fun and great music with many nostalgic moments. Kudo's especially to conductor Scott "0Neil standing in for Marvin Hamlisch. Maestro O'Neil interacted with the audience and provided some fun moments. Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners did the best they could as they admittedly battled the 5280 altitude. But generally a nice performance in all. My husband and I enjoyed it.
