About

The Black Keys are a garage rock duo from Akron, Ohio made up of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Upon dropping out of college, the duo began making a number of self-produced albums together, including The Big Come Up (2002), Thickfreakness (2003), Rubber Factory (2004) and Magic Potion (2006). The band’s fifth studio set, Attack and Release (2008), marked a turning point — not only was it their first project to be recorded in a professional studio, but they also found a producer in Danger Mouse, who would go on to become a frequent collaborator. The Black Keys’ commercial breakthrough occurred with the 2010 release of Brothers and its 2011 follow-up El Camino. Both landed in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and the former earned the band their first Grammy win for Best Alternative Music Album. Their 2014 LP Turn Blue became their first No. 1 album on the all-genre chart, with later studio sets including Let’s Rock (2019), Delta Kream (2021) and Dropout Boogie (2022). The band’s twelfth studio album, 2024’s Ohio Players, will be supported by their 2024 International Players Tour.

    Black Keys at the Forum

by Tini on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I thought the parking $45 could have been set at a slightly lower price. I thought the drinks at the Bar (selection, price, and the attitude of the servers even when the Bar was not crowded) were mediocre at best, especially for wine lovers. You had to purchase water otherwise not available. The acoustics were great but the laser light show was non-existent for the warm-up bands.

Awesome performance, not an ideal venue.

by Corbin on 10/11/22Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

The Velveteres, Band of Horses, The Black Keys. Great lineup. Live Nation was kinda lame. Everything was overpriced and the digital tickets were not streamline. My main gripe was the bass. It was so overly loud during the while concert. Unnecessarily loud. We talked to some other guests and they agreed. Other than that and the pot smoke is was a niece in a lifetime experience. 10/10

    Kia sounded great

by Dragon on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

Was super comfy. Music was good. Didn’t know to much of their new stuff but liked it anyways because the production value was good. Music also sounded great at the forum

    Exceeded my expectations!

by Derek B on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I found out about The Black Keys from my fiancé 4 years or so ago. I quickly became a fan and found out later that the ban stopped making music. I was bummed about that until I discovered before the pandemic hit that the band was getting back together. I was making plans with friends and my girl to go see their reunion tour in San Diego and then COVID ruin those plans. Fast forward to this last Saturday at The Kia Forum. The Kia Forum made it easy to enter and get seated. I loved that part actually. Hats off to The Kia Forum and staff for making the experience easy. The show was great from the Band of Horses to the main show The Black Keys. Great light show and great performance.

The music was amazing, but the venue had issues with sight

by Shahryar on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

The music was amazing, but the venue had issues with sight lines. From where we sat, the performers in center stage were obscured by a huge hanging speaker facing the performers. The video screen was helpful but was a bit small. Older venue not most suitable to a concert. 2 nights prior we attended a concert by Phoenix in the you tube theater across the street. The venue just opened and was State of the art, audio/video and no obstructions. The black keys were amazing though, we enjoyed that quote a bit

    vip package

by mp on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

i got the vip package which included . but im upset on the gift of the black keys it was just a FOAM FINGER and poster which it doesn't seem reasonable since the tickets were $500 plus per person the gift should have been - like a sweater , t-shirt or record at least sound check was okay - but it would have been nice to included a meet and greet as well

    😐

by SomeDude on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I got exactly what I expected; a solid, well-timed show performed by pure rock and roll enthusiasts.

The band was great and the sound was good.

by Jeff on 10/11/22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Music was great, service was good, purchased concert shirts from arena staff (Canucks Team Store) but my credit card was also falsely charged at the arena to “My Merchandising” Dundas Ontario. Still sorting that out, but caution should be taken with the arena machines.

    Good night

by Larry Arizala on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

Honestly the crowd was a bit older but there is nothing wrong with that. They still rocked out and gave a good show.

    Great Band, Bad Venue

by Boyd on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

The Black Keys were great, but the venue was not. The sound was muffled, and the video screens did not help you see the musicians any better. There was no one helping people find there seats, so people kept sitting in the wrong seats. It was really distracting when people had to keep getting up and moving because they were sitting in the wrong place. Getting out of the parking lot after the concert was also a nightmare. No one directing traffic, so people were going in all sorts of directions causing traffic jams.

    Exceeded Expectations

by Mari and Tom on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

Velveteers started the evening with some real high energy rock n roll… look for them to continue to grow. Band of Horses did a masterful job with their repertoire and stage presence…they sounded wonderful! The Black Keys absolutely killed it! Their energy was non stop. Really enjoyed the accompaniment by Kenny Brown and Eric Deaton for four songs mid show from Delta Kream. I listened to them Non stop after El Camino for about a year, then put them aside… my mistake! First time seeing The Black Keys and my wife and I enjoyed every minute of the show…we will definitely see them again… they put on an awesome show!

    Akron basement rock!

by PhillyRich on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I hadn’t seen The Black Keys in 10 years. They did not disappoint. They played a mix of their greatest hits, new songs and some real “basement rock” with a great group of supporting musicians. The light show was cool too!

    Perfect night.

by Brian on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I was front row for this concert and had an excellent experience. I was front row for the Black Keys performance in 2019 as well, but this show’s seating was even better as the row 1 was moved up and we were allowed to stand at the rail unlike before. Security was great at removing anyone who would come to the rail and wasn’t actually in the front row, so I had an a perfect experience.

    Worst experience

by JaCab on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

This gas nothing to do with The Black Keys. I wish I could have enjoyed the show but my view sucked! I sat front row in section 225 but the Forum blocked my view with the handicap section. They set the handicap section too far out, making it hard to see down at the stage. The people sitting and standing in the handicap section completely blocked my view of seeing the stage. I complained to guests services and they told me to send an email. I am still waiting to hear back from the forum. I left early because the seats were completely useless.

    Awesome Roots Rock

by Spunk on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

The Black Keys is one of my favorite bands. I have been a fan since they were just duo. Now that they have success and money they have expanded their band. It was great to see them bring up musicians from the Delta Kreme Blues album they put out not too long ago. They introduced them several times, as well as themselves but they never introduced the backup band, Bass, Guitar, Keyboard, Background singer percussionist. I wonder why? Anyways, excellent show see them whenever you can.

    Amazing!

    by K on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

Their ability to put on a show is astounding. They truly know how to make the crow energize with their music.

    Fantastic show except…

by Old and tired on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

Black Keys were great, Band of Horses were great, but could have done without the second opener. Didn’t even know there was one (wish that was communicated by Ticketmaster more clearly). Pushed back the start of the headliner to 9:45 pm which I was not anticipating as I brought my 10 and 8 year old sons to see their first concert. Because of the late start we didn’t even make it halfway through the Black Keys set before my kids faded fast. Bummed we couldn’t have caught more of it because they sounded great!

    Great Show

by TheNorthPace on 10/11/22Kia Forum - Inglewood

I love The Black Keys and this show was great - except Dan Auerbach kept introducing Patrick Carney on drums and reminding us that the band was called The Black Keys. Uh, yeah, we know. That's why we're here. Something a little more authentic when speaking to the fans would have been better than reminding us who they are.

    Very good.

by A-Dog on 10/10/22Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

Getting in, parking and in getting to our seats was smooth and easy. We bought a t-shirt at the merchandise booth and a couple of waters at another vendor booth. They were all nice but I don't think it's right to have to be hit up for a tip by every Tom Dick and Harry that works at the venue.

    Great show!

by Matt G on 10/10/22Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

We got there on the early side. It was easy to enter (bought the VIP entrance pass which was nice). The opening act rocked it! Band of Horses was solid. The Black Keys sounded fantastic and hit most of the biggest hits. It was a GREAT show!
