About

Joan Jett grew up during a time when rock 'n' roll was off limits to girls and women, but as a teenager, she promptly blasted the door to the boys' club right off its hinges. After forming her band the Blackhearts in 1979, with whom Jett has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she has had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and "Crimson and Clover." With a career that has spanned music, film, television, Broadway, and humanitarianism, Joan Jett remains a potent force and inspiration to generations of fans worldwide. As a producer, she has overseen seminal albums by Bikini Kill, and the Germs' LA punk masterpiece 'GI.' Jett and Kenny Laguna (her longtime producer and music partner) co-founded Blackheart Records from the trunk of Kenny's Cadillac after rejections from no less than 23 labels. 40 years later, Blackheart is a thriving entertainment company producing music, film and television, and continues to champion emerging bands. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts continue to tour the world with headlining shows and alongside fellow rock legends like The Who, Green Day, Heart, Foo Fighters and Alanis Morrissette (Summer 2024). 'Bad Reputation,' a documentary about Jett's life, premiered to critical acclaim at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Following up on the band's 2022 release Changeup, their first-ever acoustic album, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' EP Mindsets was released as a Record Store Day First vinyl piece on 11/24/23. Mindsets is available to stream now.

    Music great, venue Meh!

by Kelz on 5/2/23Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

The show was great but I doubt I will be going back to see anyone at Coushatta. It felt like a high school auditorium with folding chairs and GA in the back!

    Joan Jett is my inspiration

by Lacie Landry on 5/2/23Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

The cover band FEA was not a good choice for the venue to cover Joan Jett. FEA was absolutely horrible and was extremely difficult to sit through. The venue could’ve picked a better cover band to cover the legendary Joan Jett. So to say the least, we were ready for Joan to come out and save the night!! Which she of course did! She sounds amazing, the band plays amazing! Extremely colorful scenes and professional! I love how she interacted with the crowd. I love her and what she stands for!

The concert itself was okay. The setup for seating was awful

by Tony on 3/15/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

This the seating was on a flat level parking lot not theater style where each row was higher than the one in front of it. Near impossible to see the stage. Purchase cocktails at $18 each weakest drinks ever could not even taste the alcohol. Tylenol not such a great night

    Great Venue

by PJB on 3/14/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

Coconut Creek Hardrock outdoor concert area was great. All seats are good and great sound. Joan Jett was ok, seemed to lose her thought as she was speaking and did a lot of new songs.

    Poor ending

by TT on 3/13/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

I get it she has to play some new songs, but she ended with a slow boring new song and then no encore. Left the show disappointed.

    Good concert

by MW on 3/13/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

I liked the concert. I do not like seating that is not elevated so that no matter where you sit, you can see. We paid a lot of money to get good seats to prevent this - we were in the 3rd row on the left side of the stage - but they left a huge open area in front of us, and when the concert started, people rushed to that section to stand and watch the concert and blocked our view from where should have been great seats. Joan Jett did a good concert, and it was good to see here. We did like that it was easy to park at the venue and get to the stage area

    Good and bad

by Paul on 3/12/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

Concert was great but waaaay too short. The seating here is terrible. Squished like sardines. Seriously, you simply can’t move. Very uncomfortable.

    Too short

by WoodyK72 on 3/12/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

I absolutely love Joan Jett and paid a premium price for our seats. Unfortunately she only played a little under a hour. It was disappointing compared to most of her other shows. I hate giving a 3 star review because she’s one of my favorites but this show fell short. I’m not sure if she felt well or not but something was definitely not right with her. Sorry for the not so great review.

    Power of the Jett

by Jonnie on 3/12/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

The show was excellent. Parking easy and it was a good seat. Although we were not center stage the giant screen made it seem as if we were in row A. Fantastic performance by all.

    Sound System Issues

by N. J. on 3/12/23The Stage At Coco Outdoors - Coconut Creek

The entry process was very smooth. The seating was tight, but I stood up throughout the whole concert, so not a big deal for me. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were amazing, though it was clear that Joan Jett was upset with the sound engineer...never mind that she lost power to her guitar on two occasions. I would say, the sound crew needs to work out their kinks. I would attend another concert at this venue again.
