About

NEIL YOUNG IN CONCERT:

Singer-songwriter legend Neil Young thrilled fans in 2013 with the announcement of North American and European tour dates alongside his longtime collaborative band Crazy Horse. Among the highly-coveted 2014 dates are four nights at Carnegie Hall as well as a series of “Honor of Treaties” benefit concerts with Diana Krall to aid the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Legal Defense Fund.

“Neil Young and Crazy Horse play like the rock and roll legends that they are. Truly a great show reminiscent of the classics from the early days.”

“They weren't going through the motions, they were making them. Improvising, jamming, messing up, laughing, only in the way Neil and the Horse can. They were so tightly tuned in to one another and sounded great, but the best part was that they seemed happy to be there, happy to perform.”

“Neil is a genius! After all these years, he still rocks and puts on a great show!”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Since the late '60s, Young has released over 35 studio albums, exploring such diverse genres  as country-folk, pop, noise, punk, and electronica. He’s best known, however, for his iconic folk rock songwriting, popularized by his hugely successful collaborations with Crazy Horse and supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Never content to rest on his laurels, Young has remained musically prolific and sonically experimental, earning rave reviews for his 2012 double-LP release Psychedelic Pill.

    WE ❤️ NEIL!!

    by PNW on 2/20/24

Saw Neil last summer 2023 in WA. And he was amazing as always!! Such nostalgia, such heartfelt sentimentsrr in his writing and performances. A legend. Reading through the reviews in here really makes me scratch my head…What dolts come here to leave negative reviews and minimal stars based on the audience, venue, seating, F&B options, etc. when Neil has ZERO control over any of that?? Come on, people. You’re reviewing the ARTIST. And some say “oh I didn’t know it would be him solo…” can you not read?? And “He played only songs I didn’t know”….. so you only go to concerts based on the #1 songs and greatest hits?? He definitely played some bigger songs so I don’t know what to tell you…. All so exhausting, and symbolic of our society that is never satisfied nor can just appreciate and just be present. So much complaining (yes, I get the irony in my commentary)! Anyway, he could play literally anything in his library and we would be happy. I mean… it’s NEIL YOUNG. And his stage was set up like a comfortable living room - with a piano of history and significance, a little electric train set that drive around its tracks, a fireplace, so inviting, charming. I could listen to his stories all day too. “What’s your favorite planet??” Love you, Neil!

    Not good

    by Jimi T on 11/27/23

I waited for a very long time to see Neil Young. He played about 20 songs and 3 were his hits. It was uninspired and overall very disappointing. One guy near me yelled "Play something we've heard"and that pretty much summed up the show.

    Neil Young Solo Amazing!

    by Tony on 8/4/23

Neil live can be an adventure in style and artist interactions with the audience. There is the hard nosed electric Neil and the soft sung acoustic ballad version. Neil can be incredibly outgoing and sometimes keeps to himself, seemingly oblivious to the audience. Not judging, all are appreciated. This version was mostly acoustic, but there was some electricity. He was very outgoing, chatting and joking with the audience throughout the set. As for the concert, an eclectic selection of songs, some I've never heard live before. Highlights included a beautiful version of Birds, a much too relevant Ohio, and a set closing Heart of Gold that was simply enchanting. Thanks, Neil for bringing your sound back to us!

    Nice living room Neil

    by Playin around on 7/31/23

It looked like he brought his living room to the stage and he was just playing around like a kid. Neil played the favorites as we know and some just on the keyboards. Fun show, Thanks Neil. See you next time.

    Comes a Time

    by Old Man on 7/30/23

Took my wife to NAPA for her 65th birthday to see one of our all time favorites in concert. It was a beautiful night (but a bit chilly) and we had great seats. Neil was his "old"nutty self on stage bantering with the crowd and vocally was in good form. However, he seemed to be more interested in pleasing himself than the adoring crowd by playing a bizarre selection of songs that many had never heard before. He sprinkled a few classics in between but not many, and his one song anchor "Earth"left a lot to be desired. For the exorbitant ticket price he should have delivered a more crowd pleasing show. "Comes a Time"to settle down and stop playing shows if you can't get the job done.,

Neil Young was great with the venue was beyond awful

    by Whatever on 7/30/23

We paid a lot of money for the seats. All I could see was the top of the stage. People were not standing at this concert for the most part of the show. Oxbow Napa is a outdoor venue on grass. The seats in the front, near the stage, were on higher ground. These are the only people who really got to see Neil. People left their VERY tight, folding chair, seats and were standing along the sides to actually see the show. There were restaurants outside of the venue. The people sitting at those restaurants, who did not pay for tickets, had a better view of the show. I don’t know if live nation has anything to do with how the seats are laid out I felt very ripped off.

    Neil Young solo

    by Bob on 7/29/23

Did not realize it was a solo performance. That would be fine except he played very few of his biggest hits. Went hoping to see him perform with a band and listen to his greatest hits. Also the whole performance was very uninspired. Very disappointing concert.

It was a Good concert but could have been Great

    by JimmyB on 7/29/23

It could have been a great concert if Neil Young would have sang more of his Top Hits

    okay

    by dancer on 7/29/23

The Venue is fabulous. All concert venues should have the ability to dance and walk around. I didn't realize there would be no band. My fault. Had I known I would not have gone. Neil was cute in his forgetfulness and I clapped for all the 4 encores.
