About

JERRY LEE LEWIS IN CONCERT:

Legendary rock and roller-turned-country crooner Jerry Lee Lewis is living proof that septuagenarians can still rock. The Killer, as Lewis is affectionately known by fans, still possesses the same spitfire energy that propelled hits like "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" to No. 1 in the '50s, working the piano like a man half his age at his throwback live shows. Taking the stage with his sister and niece at his 2014 shows, Lewis cranked out marathon sets of his beloved rock hits, thrilling fans both young and old with his timeless, tireless showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Louisiana, Lewis's parents mortgaged the family farm to buy him his first piano. After being kicked out of bible school for surprising a church assembly with a boogie woogie version of "My God Is Real," Lewis begin playing in clubs around Mississippi and Tennessee, hoping to land a record deal in Nashville. His break came when Sun Records realized his talent, recording his early songs and eventually releasing his breakthrough hits "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" in 1957. After family troubles steered him away from music in the late '50s, he returned to the game in the late '60s with a countrified sound, climbing the charts once again with hits like the 1968 No. 1 "To Make Love Sweeter For You." With a career that spans more than half a century, Lewis is nothing if not a seasoned performer, continuing to entertain audiences with his piano theatrics well into his seventies.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Jerry Lee Lewis put on an absolutely inspired performance of full throttle rock and roll mixed with the usual blend of country ballads and Mississippi Blues. Fantastic performance..."

"Jerry Lee has always been the master showman and even though he didn't stand up on the piano or set it on fire, does not mean that he put any less energy into his show."

"Jerry lee didn't miss a beat on the piano! So glad I got to see him."

    Jerry Lee Rocks At 80!

by 73kt on 2/12/16Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

Jerry Lee Lewis recently turned 80 but you would not notice that to see him perform. His hands flew up and down the keys, his voice was extremely strong and he still pulls off some of his stage antics. He was playing the piano with his foot flung on the keys and still managed to kick the piano bench back after his performance. He performed for approximately 45 minutes and it was for the most part all Rock and Roll. He did however play a couple of Country numbers like You Win Again and Over the Rainbow. Jerry Lee was, is and always will be the Greatest Performer that ever graced a stage and will always be know for putting on "The Greatest Live Shows on Earth". Rock on Killer!

80 years old and still going at it ! Rock and Roll Royalty Jerry Lee Lewis can still play that piano Good show by band and joined on stage by Jerry's sister to warm up the crowd before Jerry came on. She did a good job, very entertaining. A short video clip, then Jerry Lee came on stage to a standing ovation. The history this man has been through is amazing. He can still sing and play. Although we are all getting older, he still puts on a great show ! Audience was allowed to come to stage to get closer pics.

Last Man Standing still brings it!

by kumbah on 2/12/16Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

Old age is undefeated but JLL is going down swinging. Played all his great hits, joked with the audience, told a few stories. He only did one set but that is definitely forgivable because he still leaves it all on the stage. Highly recommend seeing him before he retires! BTW his band is impeccable and his sister is a talented singer/piano player in her own right. She did a few numbers as warmup.

by JLLfan on 2/10/16Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

A great show from one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll, as well as Sun records. A fun show from an amazing entertainer. He still rocks the house, and his piano skills are still tremendous. He can still play as good as anybody. A very enjoyable concert.

Jerry Lee is definitely showing his. Has trouble standing and walking, but when he sits down at the piano, he perks UP. His voice is still strong and he can make the piano talk. In general, we had a good time.

It was amazing! We had a really good time. Only took a few minutes to get into our seats. We bought a bucket of beer at a reasonably price. It was incredible to see an rock-n-roll legend live. He sounded good for an 80 year old!

    Wonderful event

by LuckyLouie on 2/9/16Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

The show at Sam's Town featuring Jerry Lee Lewis was great! He did a lot of songs and had the audience on their feet. His sister Linda Gale and Linda's daughter sang a few songs at the beginning as well as the band playing and singing but once Jerry Lee took a seat at the piano, it was all Jerry Lee. I hope he schedules more dates this year that I will be able to attend.

The only word I can use to describe Jerry's performance is stunning. He played 14 songs and each one was better than the one before. It's a rockin' show. Seriously don't missing a chance to see Jerry Lee if you get it you won't be disappointed. It's the greatest live show on earth!!!

Jake Rowley was great. Jerry Lee Lewis was not.

by TabbyDM on 10/9/15Julie Rogers Theatre - Beaumont

Really enjoyed Jake Rowley & the Payola Kings. Wished they would have played more of Elvis' more popular songs and for someone who played Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet, Jake Rowley did not exude Elvis' persona very much. But the singing was still very good & the Payola Kings were fantastic. I don't know if Jerry Lee Lewis was having a bad night or what. His sister came out & performed first. I was wondering what was going on - we didn't pay to see her in concert. But she said we all needed to get ready for the party so hopes were high for the Jerry Lee Lewis part of the concert. Shortly after starting his set, Jerry Lee Lewis started griping to his musicians about not knowing what key to play in. After playing a few songs, he stood up and moved his piano bench away. Crowd cheered - waiting for something special. Instead he stopped playing mid song and walked off stage. The band finished the song & bade us good night. Jerry Lee Lewis was on for a total of only 15-1/2 minutes! Show would have been a total bust of not for Jake Rowley & the Payola Kings.

    The Killer

by fanofthelegends on 10/6/15Julie Rogers Theatre - Beaumont

It was great to see this legend perform. His ability to still play the piano with such energy and precision was remarkable. He was obviously not happy with his band as several times during the performance he could be heard calling out "keys". During the "last" song, he literally stopped in the middle of the song and walked off the stage. Not sure if this was part of the performance or if he was upset with the band and just quit!!
