Peter Frampton on Tour

With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.

It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.

The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).

Peter Frampton Background

From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.

By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.

After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."

Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

Inspirational show of strength and perseverance

    by Izzy on 3/17/24

To watch Peter Frampton live is to understand what strength and perseverance means. To see Frampton in a stage it's easy to understand why the 1976 Frampton Comes Alive! is still considered the best live album ever made and PF one of the best live performers ever: Sings, plays guitar at god level, composes, no-auto tune, at 75 suffering from inclusion body myositis (IBM), does it better than ANY top artist alive or dead for that matter. For me, still and forever the best live solo performer! A true inspiration about life, love and happiness.

Extremely enjoyable performance from Peter Frampton. Played for about 2 hours, played all the songs you would want to hear. Frampton has very positive attitude that shoiws through and helps to create a great atmosphere. Frampton is an excellent musician, and his band is also top-notch. Would highly recommend to any fan of his music.

    Enjoyable - worth experiencing!

by CTConcertgrrl on 3/11/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Peter Frampton is still a guitar hero. His band was smoking. He had a good report with the crowd between songs. You heard all the radio tunes you know. I really enjoyed Lying and Chris Cornell tribute of Blackhole sun. The encore was all covers but awesome. It was a little sad to see him needing assistance from the drummer walking out but in general I walked out smiling from a really good show.

Peter Frampton Comes Back Alive @ Count Basie

by Harri on 3/11/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

Peter outdid himself, at 73 dabilitating legs, he came out and ruled that show. His voice hasn't lost that much of it's range, and his Guitar Playing lost nothing at all. He Rocked the House all Night. And to my surprise he played three Humble Pie Songs. He blew all three of the Songs up. Great Show. Sitting in a Chair didn't hinder him whatsoever.

Ultimate hang event! No hassles, good people, great music!

by PFLover on 3/11/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

It's been a while since I went to the Oakdale but I was happy to go back for an amazing Peter Frampton show. There really isn't a bad seat in the Oakdale and the sound is always top notch. Peter Frampton even though struggling with a muscular disease has not lost an ounce of talent from the Frampton Comes Alive days. His voice and his playing were as good on March 7th 2023 as they were in '1976 maybe better because they didn't run off stage and do a bunch of drugs before playing the encore. That is what Peter said anyway. Looking forward to seeing more shows at the Oakdale....keep bringing the old rockers in and I will keep buying the tickets! P.S. Bring Peter Frampton back!

    Legend doesn't dissapoint

by jimmyzat on 3/11/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

Had a great time at Count Basie on 3-5-22. Peter Frampton and his band were excellent. You could really tell they were enjoying themselves. Peter was very engaging with the crowd and his singing and playing were on point. His voice was as strong as ever, and even though he has to sit when he performs now it did not interfere with his stellar guitar playing. I have seen him several times, hopefully this will not be the last. Keep on rockin' Pete !!!!
