About

UCF Women’s Basketball at CFE Arena

The UCF women’s basketball team has called CFE Arena home since 2007. The gameday experience has evolved over the last 10 seasons and now includes everything from dance cams to a postgame singing of the alma mater. From the pre-game warmups to the final buzzer, fans are in for a treat. Coach Abe and her team show their appreciation for Knight Nation following every home contest, and look forward to seeing everyone in their Black and Gold!

2017-18 Season

The Knights are poised to build off a historic 2016-17 campaign this fall. The return of Aliyah Gregory, a 2017 First Team All-Conference selection, and seven additional members from the squad that finished fourth in the American Athletic Conference a year ago will help the Black and Gold build on their success. The Knights add six new faces to the roster, including Zakiya Saunders, an All-America East honoree from UAlbany. The American announced the women’s basketball pairings for the 2017-18 campaign, and four-time defending league champion UConn will visit CFE Arena for the second straight season. UCF will also host in-state rival USF for the first women’s basketball War on I4 matchup in CFE Arena. East Carolina, Tulane, Memphis, SMU, Temple and conference-newcomer Wichita State will also make the trip to Orlando for league matchups.

Team History

The arrival of head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson prior to the 2016-17 season sparked the Knights. UCF racked up 21 victories in its first season with Coach Abe, leading to its best finish in The American. The Knights made the trip to Tampa on Feb. 14, 2017 for the lone War on I4 meeting against No. 22 USF. A career-best 34 points from Aliyah Gregory helped UCF to a historic victory over the Bulls. The Knights posted their first-ever win over a ranked opponent, first win in Tampa, and collected six points in the rivalry series to give UCF the lead for good. Overall, a 14-win swing from 2015-16 tied for the second-best turnaround in Division I women’s basketball. The Knights added to their postseason appearances, hosting Stetson in CFE Arena for the program’s first-ever WNIT game, and came away with their first postseason victory.

UCF does not welcome U-Conn fans

    by PO5999 on 2/10/18CFE Arena - Orlando

We were only allowed to buy general admission single game tickets on the web site. We were told by UCF it was general admission seating except the the season ticket holders. When we arrived we were told we could only sit in sections 118 and 119 in the corner and behind the basket. The rest of the seating around the arena was empty. We were told if we sat in any other section security would to call to remove us. Those sections filled up!!! Everyone was extremely angry with UCF with this new policy.

    Good effort

by Lordvec on 1/5/17CFE Arena - Orlando

I am a UConn Women's fan, have been for years. This is the first time we have gotten to see an away game with them and I was impressed by the venue. Beautiful arena and campus. It was a vacation week for UCF but enough fans showed up to make me optimistic that this program is going places. Makes me happy that we will be living 15 minutes away and have another team to cheer on, (except on Husky days).

    Exciting event

by CalvinBPTCT on 1/4/17CFE Arena - Orlando

It is always good to come to this arena. Everything is very organized. The movement of the vehicles and the crowd was well organized. The police officers, the staff were friendly and helpful even to opponent fans.

    $ 3.50 for water?

by PortOrangePaPaJohn on 1/4/17CFE Arena - Orlando

Ticket process was confusing as there were no row or seat numbers until after you bought your tickets. And then it was general admission. why put the row/numbers on the tickets?

UConn Women's basketball game with UCF

    by run2home on 1/24/15CFE Arena - Orlando

It's a shame that UCF gives little to no support for Women's basketball. Of the 3000 fans at the game the majority were UConn fans

    Uconn vs UCF womens basketball

    by coachmike13 on 1/24/15CFE Arena - Orlando

The venue was awesome, my son, goddaughter and her boyfriend all had a great time. Free parking was great and loved the timeout give always. I will come more often to watch both men and women's basketball. Hats off to the management staff and all who worked so hard behind the scenes. Great Job!! As a former Florida High School and College Coach my self and watching how it all came together at this game and especially at this very nice CFE Arena and watching how well and professionally it was run during this event made me want to become part of the venue and offer my time as a volunteer to make the UCF lady knights the best program in the nation and match the team greatness with this awesosme venue.

    Uconn Vs. UCF

    by Jack622 on 1/24/15CFE Arena - Orlando

Great place to see the Huskies at an away game. General admission tickets, so good seats first come, first served. They did not charge for parking in the garage across the street. Slow getting out after the game though.

    Great time a UCF-UConn Women's game

by UCONNMARK on 1/24/15CFE Arena - Orlando

The CFE Arena is a great place to watch basketball. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time even though UConn was winning big. The band and cheerleaders were excellent. They also had contests during commercial breaks. It was a fun evening. We drove from Palm Bay to see the game. We had only 15 minutes before the game started and we found out that we parked in the wrong garage. A wonderful young UCF student told us where the correct parking garage was and she said that she would go get her Scion and lead us there. She did and we made it to the game with one minute to spare. She went the extra mile for our group that was wearing the UConn "enemy" shirts! She showed us that "Knight's Pride" is more than a slogan at UCF...it's a way of life at this fine institution.

    Great event, great stadium

by CalvinBPTCT on 1/24/15CFE Arena - Orlando

I had a wonderful time at this event. Being a UCONN fan, I enjoyed the game more than the UCF fans. The place was easy to get to, the parking was great, there were a lot of places to eat within walking distance and the people were friendly. This is the second time I was here, but not the last.
