Decent show, could have been better
by 80sThrowbackFromStLouis on 5/18/16The Pageant - St LouisStarted out slow and awkward, but definitely improved throughout the evening. Would have liked to have heard more original Yes and JLP solo songs.

We had seen them in Detroit six months ago. This was far better. Jon seemed happier than he did then and the audience seemed more receptive. Jean Luc was in fine form. They are a wonderful combination. The "backing" band is incredible too. It works so well because they all respect each other. I like the words Jon has added to some of Jean Luc's music. But one of the most beautiful pieces was Jon's new version of "Long Distance Runaround." Very moving tribute to Chris Squire. Thanks guys.
This was an awesome concert. Drove 6 hours to see it, listen to it...was worth every minute of my time!
My wife and I enjoyed the show very much. Jon Anderson is my favorite "Rock" performer and regardless of any technical issues or the age of the musicians the show was great and the music was magical. Yes it could have been mixed better, and my seats were not optimal (see below), but we always love seeing Jon sing. With Jean-Luc, it was wonderful and special and the music they created was magical. But for the bad news: I am disabled and I was very disappointed in the seating locations that are available to us PEOPLE in wheelchairs. Not only was I located at the farthest table to the right side on the 3rd tier, but I was given a "seat" at one corner and my companion was given the seat at the complete opposite corner of the table ( She was seat 1 and I was seat 6). To all venues and artists: Please remember that us disabled would like to 'be in the middle' just as much as anyone else.
This is definitely a must see for progressive jazz and classic rock fans. The band members are amazing and really into performing.
Fantastic combination of star power and musicianship. I initially made the investment to see Jon Anderson sing some Yes, which was great . However, the Anderson Ponty original collaboration has become some of my favorite material. Jean Luc's violin was splendid and Jonny A's voice is timeless, their combination makes for a unique blend of jazz, new age, and progressive rock. I could not get enough and I hope they do another album and tour.
I bought my husband tickets for his birthday. We both had a great time. Jon's voice is still amazing and Jean Leuc was mesmerizing on the violin. Together they made an awesome performance. I bought the CD/DVD set and have already listened to it several times. I would recommend anyone going to see The Anderson Ponty Band!!
This was a great show. An interesting pairing of Anderson and Ponty. If they were to come back through town again this year I wo go. Also - the Pageant is a great venue.
This was our first time at the Ames Center. A very enjoyable evening. AndersonPonty Band did not disappoint. Sound levels were appropriate. The musicians were top notch. We especially liked to ease of locating the venue & the close parking. We will return for future events.
I was able to see the AndersonPonty band at the Ames Center in Burnsville MN. Very Very tight band - they were having a lot of fun and it showed in the performance. The Drum solo by Rayford Griffin was worthy of the lengthy standing ovation it received. Fantastic. Jon Anderson is in fine voice and seemed to relish the fresh take on some classic material.
