    Disappointed!!!

by SawAgain on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I watched this show in London last year, and what I can tell is that the artists that performed there were much much much better than the ones that performed here in Chicago...!!! It seems that they didn't select the best singers / artists for this cast. The story, costumes, and sceneries are basically the same, what is great. Galileo, Scaramouche and the Killer Queen in London were awesome, and here... not that much. All the credits I would give to the band / musicians, they did a great job!!!

    Great new musical

by Anonymous on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Great music, an interesting enough story line, and a bit of humor for good measure.. My husband who doesn't like musicals actually enjoyed it.

    fabulous show!

    by Romaine44 on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Completely enjoyed performance, set, costumes! Very clever script. Songs fit well with story. Laughed frequently. Tribute to Freddie was sincere but did not dominate.

Previously seen in London in 2006

by FansofBilly on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show has been reworked from the production in London. It's obviously a touring show as the set is not as elaborate. However, the great music and funny, timely current event references are just as great. We waited a long time for this show to tour. It was worth the wait.

The music was fantastic; the voices were great. Absolutely enjoyed the show. Wished it was around more than 5 days so others we told about could have seen.

updated version of original London performance

by tychef on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Originally saw this rock opera where it originated in London about 12 years ago. this performance was an updated version of the original. it was very good and very well performed but a little too updated in our opinion. too much technology took away from the story line and more words were changed in the songs. Also the woman who played the killer queen in London had a much bigger voice and stole the show. this actress was very good but voice not as big. overall a great show!

    We Will Rock You letdown.

    by JeriBeri51 on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We Will Rock You should have reflected the gender politics of this amazing historic band, while the music was good , the script was lame and so cheesy - so disappointing I am sure Freddy Mercury is turning in his grave. Some of the voices either were not well mic'd or could not hold the force of the song. Last three songs made the show worth the trip .

The music of Queen is timeless and well served in this play.

'We Will Rock You' missed the mark.

by Unrocked on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The plot was silly and reminded me of the early movies in the 50's warning of the evils of Rock and Roll. The music that was not part of the original Queen repetoire was lacking. The flashing lights that were used to create a 'rock concert' atmosphere seemed to be filler and were very annoying if not blinding. The special effects of the projections were also overdone in an attempt to create excitment. The idea of combining the current age of the internet, iphone and computer gaming was intriguing but unfortunately the dialogue and story line did not support the effort. I wanted more Queen music. The one song "Another One Bites the Dust" was sung off key badly although the band's rendition was fine.

We will Rock you, rocked us

by Hechts on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We thought it was a great play. Took our 11 and 14 year old sons, was great to have all the current pop woven into the base of Queen. We enjoyed it.

    We Will Rock You

by okitsapr on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Play was excellent and enjoy all the ditties references to all the different rock songs. The only disappointment we had was the VIP room. The charge for the VIP room did not meet standard from other theaters we have gone to for refreshment and finger food. It was terrible and skimpy. They ran out of finger food so we did not have any of the that. No one gave a damn about it when question if there will be more put on the table.

    Great performances, God-awful script

by LJNYC on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Tough one to rate. The lead actors were phenomenal. The story line and choreography were almost unwatchable - cheesy and dated. The last 10 minutes were terrific, where they just belted out the great songs.

    Very Good!

    by JOLEE1 on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I frequently attend musicals and plays. I frequently get bored, fall asleep or leave early! Not this time. Very good, entertaining. If you like music, this is for you. It may be the best written show that we have seen in a long time. I wish some of the cast were a little stronger, but the show is excellent. It has many great moments from singing, performing and humor. If we had to choose a negative regarding this show- there was a role that required a strong performance (from the Queen) and she just wasn't strong enough for the type of songs that she performed. The live band made this one special!

    Totally Rockin

    by AprilB202 on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Music was great. Very clever way music inserted in the storyline. Didn't care much for the queen (half human half android) lady vocalist. But the show was a blast. The band was amazing!

    A great surprise!

by TrustyHuckster on 10/30/13Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We needed a family friendly musical our teenage daughter could use to review for her theatre class. None of us had ever heard of this show, but the idea sounded good, and I am so glad we went. All of the music is by Queen (and there is a LOT of it), and it was used to (somewhat) carry the theme of the show. Admittedly, I did not recognize all of the songs, but most were the standards and occasionally you could hear some in the audience singing or humming along (a couple in the front row did some serious headbanging). It was probably the most fun we've had at a show in a while.
