About

WATERS IN CONCERT:

LA-based band WATERS has a knack for penning catchy-as-heck songs that recall the emotional anthems of early '90s alt rock. They've already been tapped to tour with hook-heavy rockers Weezer, and it's easy to see why as they whip fans into a frenzy with sing-along-worthy gems like "I Feel Everything" and "Got to My Head". Frontman Van Pierszalowski is a charismatic force to be reckoned with on stage, tossing his blonde locks around as he leads the band through adrenaline-fueled sets that always get fans moving. Whether they're playing cuts from their 2011 debut or breaking out material from 2015's What's Real, WATERS always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable display of chunky guitar riffs, poppy "oohs" and "ahs", and to-the-rafters energy.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

WATERS was formed in Oslo, Norway in 2011 by Van Pierszalowski following the breakup of his previous band Port O-Brien. Together with an early incarnation of the band he recorded WATERS' debut album Out in the Light that same year, earning shout-outs from Nylon Magazine and WFUV Radio in New York. Following the 2012 one-off single "If Only", Pierszalowski relocated to San Francisco and put together a new lineup. The refreshed WATERS made their debut in early 2014 with the single "Got to my Head", a feel-good romp that garnered significant attention online. They followed up with the EP It All Might Be OK, another buzzworthy release that led Rolling Stone to include the band in their monthly "10 Artists You Need to Know" feature. Since then WATERS has impressed on tour with indie favorites like Cold War Kids and Tegan and Sara, generating massive excitement for their 2015 sophomore album What's Real.

The entire evening was great - all the musicians were very good, the venue was beautifull, employees were friendly and helpfull. Nice set-up. We went specifically to see I Fight Dragons, and they were fabulous (they always are). Would love to hear WKQX play some of their songs!
