Fun Time at Kids Day
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
My 7 year old granddaughter and I have be coming to Kids Day for the past five years. This is the first time that she actually got to participated in just about all of the court activities. She also played two interactive games and got prizes. Of course she enjoyed getting her face painted while enjoying the surrounding with the unicycles and tall people. She even took a wack at swinging the giant tennis racket. It was thrilling to see the pros practice, although we missed Serena, my granddaughter’s heroine. There was much excitement as she rushed to get the pros’ autograph on her oversized tennis ball and a bit disappointing when she didn’t. Nevertheless, she saved a special spot for Coco. I thought the interactive games were fun and the giveaways were greats. This year’s entry to Ashe stadium was much smoother. We did miss not getting the kids day caps. Also, I personally preferred the challenge when the pros and the kids compete to see who hits the most targets. Shout out to JD. My granddaughter is now a huge fan.

Terrible acoustics, horrific parking
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
Let’s start with the positives. It was a beautiful day, and there were cool activities on the US Open grounds for the kids. Also, being able to walk the grounds and watch the pros practice is great. Now for the negatives. There was a Mets game that night, so they decided not to allow parking in the Citi Field lots. What that meant is that there was basically no parking available for the event. Lots were full by the 11 for a 1:00 event. Traffic was at a standstill, and there was no direction from the cops of where to park, or even to not follow signs for US Open parking because lots were full. That would have been helpful and saved me and countless others an hour plus in the car. As for the show, the kids loved it, but the acoustics were beyond awful. I’m not a big critic in general... I literally could not hear a word the MC said, or a word of any of the intervirws or musical performances. As a result, the songs were unrecognizable. The professional tennis players were great sports and it was nice of them to dedicate their time. However It seemed like the only point of them being there was to hit balls into the crowd. It would have been nice to see them rallying with some kids or something like that.

Not so good
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
The show was very average. It’s better just to hang in the grounds and see players practice

Not the best kids day
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
The kids had a wonderful time, saw a few players, Coco, Serena, Sloan, Nadal and a few others. The food prices were ridiculous 2 burgers 2 fries and 2 drinks were $55. 3 tickets were$100 I bought them late so there were no more $25 left. The show was much shorter, the players didn’t play there usual game which I always look forward to 🤷🏽♀️ Overall the weather was great, everyone had a great time.

Nothing to do with us open. Just a Disney radio promo
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
6 players showed up holding a tennis racket and standing around while Disney host Larry talked. They then hit 4-6 balls into the stands and left. In between the appearances it was a Disney radio promo show on the main court. Disappointing

Difficulty Seeing the Show
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
We purchased several seats 8 rows from the ground but had a very obstructed view from most of the event due to the umpire’s chair. I would have rather sat up high and see better rather than sit where I was close to the court. I would ask that the umpire chair be removed for future Arthur Ashe Kids Day events.

It was OK
Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing
Good energy, but the artist selection was just ok, the profesional athletes appearance was very brief and not very interactive with the audience. Was expecting to see more tennis “games/entertainment” from pro athletes even if it was amongst themselves on the court
