    Tapestry phenomenal band

by LV5280 on 10/22/14FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca Raton

Although the lead singer had laryngitis and didn't quite hit the notes, the bank was phenomenal especially I ally the lead guitar......he really rocked. The lead singer made a courageous effort, but she needs to loose the back singer....she didn't do much for the act. Can't believe the rude people who demanded their money back!

Singer with larygitis. Seemingly unrehearsed band. Half the audience left at intermission. Poor acoustics. Was a waste of $50.00

    Carole king: tapestry tribute

by heifee on 10/22/14FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca Raton

The lady that did carol king had a severe case of laryngitis. She had problems talking and the concert reflected it. She couldn't hit the notes and the concert seemed to drag. She appeared ill. She tried and I will give her credit for that. The concert should have been canceled. I felt like we wasted $100.00 on tickets. Was so disappointed that she didn't even sing Tapestry Also had a man sitting next to me that sang to EVERY song and he couldn't carry a tune and didn't know the words and him and his wife continually LOUDLY talked to each other

Some Times the Show Must Not Go On

by BigDickie on 10/22/14FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca Raton

There is an old adage in show business……..”The Show Must Go On”. This tradition is great to have, but there has to be some exceptions. I was not expecting to either see or hear the real Carol King. I just wanted to be entertained with her music. This artist knew she had a voice issue. If you cannot get a stand-in to replace you, the show should have been canceled. It could have been a great show.

    Tapestry was appropriate

by jrlb on 10/22/14FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca Raton

The singer had laryngitis which she told us after the second song, but we already knew it as she was losing her voice and could not reach some notes. Her backup musicians and singer appeared to fill in with music and extra singing--not sure. The major singer was energetic and tried her best, but often could not convey equal energy or sing Carol King as it deserved. Giving a "Fair" for her effort, but it was not able to give us the performance we deserved for our 2 seats totalling $119.00 and expecting much more

The show should have been cancelled due to the fact that the lead singer had laryngitis and could not sing well at all. It was a very disappointing performance. I would like our $96+ back.

    Complete waste of $96

by Gigi0373 on 10/21/14FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca Raton

While I felt bad that the female lead singer had laryngitis, I could not understand why this mediocre cover band did not cancel or postpone the performance. The second female singer could have stepped in, but she must have been just hired because she did not know the lyrics to the songs, and she admitted to the audience that she had never heard Carol King's hit, "You've Got a Friend," before singing with this group. The four male musicians were good, but also were not vocalists. Thus, we were left with a voiceless lead and lots of extended instrumentals. Seriously, this was the most painful concert (if you can call it that) that I have ever attended. Even if the lead singer was not ill, this band sounded like a poor wedding band or something you hear at a dive bar. Save your money.

I had high expectations for this program. Unfortunately, the singer had a bad case of laryngitis and the performance should have been rescheduled.
