    What a great show!

Very well done performance of Wizard of Oz. The cast did a fantastic job. There were several very clever interpretive things done that I really enjoyed. Overall, the show was very entertaining and was definitely an evening well spent.

The Wizard of Oz was unimpressive

by GurneeGirl on 5/6/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I took my 10-year-old niece to see the Saturday night performance in Chicago. Having seen many other musicals at both this same venue (Cadillac Palace) and others, I have to say that this production was disappointing. Ticket prices were in the same neighborhood as those for Wicked, The King and I, The Lion King, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and others, but everything from the sets to the performances fell far short of those other shows. I feel like I didn't get my money's worth. We sat in the balcony. I was worried that we'd be too far back, but we could see just fine. I would buy those same seats again.

    The Amazing Wizard of Oz

    by Jess9876 on 5/6/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I took my mom and 7 year old daughter to their first show. The music, costumes, set and actors were amazing! There is something about the Wizard of Oz that brings out such wonderful emotions. My daughter's excitement melted my heart. We will be talking about this for a long time. So many memories! My daughter loved it so much that she likes to act out scenes from the show!!! Amazing... and highly recommended!!

    Wizard was over the rainbow.

by GBMN on 5/6/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Not only were the characters wonderful I have to give a great big wonderful to the set people. I felt the tornado, the forest scared me, and the emerald city was beautiful. I went with 5 other women and they said the same thing.

    Wiz and kids

by Belleriana on 5/6/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show was outstanding and the new musical numbers and costumes were exceptional. Theater should have a rule about age of children in attendance. We had balcony seats (excellent) but could not see 100% of the time due to kids 5 and under in row A dancing in chairs and after intermission playing with the bags from gift shop that made a lot of noise.

The performance was OK - nothing spectacular. Compared to Wicked it was unimpressive. Also, too much use of the projector took away from the performance aspect.

    THE KIDS WENT WILD!!

by WKGNRED on 5/5/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

GREAT EFFECTS. AMAZING HOW THE ACCOMPLISHED SO MUCH ON SUCH A LITTLE STAGE. ONCE AGAIN - I THINK SPEAKERS SHOULD BE INSTALLED IN THE REAR OF THE BALCONY. SO MUCH DIALOG GETS MISSED. IF YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW THE STORY, YOU WOULD BE LOST. OUR EVENT WAS WONDERFUL, BUT WAS DISTRACTING BECAUSE OF ALL THE CHILDREN SCREAMING. AFTER THE FIRST 'BOOM' A SMALL CHILD CRIED THRU THE REST OF THE PERFORMANCE. WE STILL LOVED IT, THO.!

It was great to remember one of those memories one has when I was 5-6 years old. The show itself is spectacular and deploys a fun sense of humor.

    Wizard of Oz spellbinding!!!

by Anonymous on 5/3/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Having taken our granddaughter who is 5 1/2, we wondered if she could sit through the whole play. No problem. Now she wants to be a singer and actor. And as adults, we loved the special effects. Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice who collaborated on this play helped this play reach an adult level. Go see it!
