My mom and I saw the King and I over the weekend and it was wonderful. The acting and singing was excellent. The King played a really good and funny character. We laughed out loud a number of times. I didn't want the show to end. I've seen lots of touring musicals and broadway as well and this was one of the best. I want to see it again!
My family knew nothing about the play, but my husband, 14-year old son, and 12-year old daughter really enjoyed it. The king's humor made the play "fun".
It is definitely worth seeing. The singers have strong voices. Kids are great.
We went to this play with high expectations. We have seen this play on stage twice before. The best, by far, was the production in London. It was a much larger production that went into more detail about the story. (this production was 25 years ago). That being said, the two lead roles in Chicago were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by the fabulous voice of the young lady. We were somewhat disappointed at how quickly this production skipped through the big dinner scene; this was a significant part of the play that was rushed through with little or no fanfare.
The King & I was a great show! The entire cast was fabulous! I would definitely go see this show again. It was extremely entertaining.
What a fantastic, fun, and thoroughly entertaining production! This brought back memories of earlier years watching The King and I on TV!
Amazing cast, crew and musicians. The stage and theater came alive.
Singing and acting performances were very good. The staging was not elaborate but that keep the focus on the story. Highly recommend to those who like the old time musicals.
I went in thinking how would this compare to the movie, but they did a fantastic job. The King was great. Would go see it again

There is nothing I would change about this. The cast was divine, the singing perfect. The dance numbers captivating. Lots of humor and heart.

It was a very simple production. Would have liked a little more glitz. It kind of seemed like a hometown production. Didn't help that in opening number we could see the guys in white moving boat around. Not sure why they wouldn't wear black to blend in a little.
I took my siblings to watch the show mainly because of Laura Michelle Kelly. But they loved it because it was funny and the songs were easily recognizable; the moving columns were charming. The cast was great and I definitely recommend this show to everyone.
Even the show runs almost three hours it does not feel like it at all. Everything about this show from the staging, the lighting, the cast, the music etc etc etc, was absolutely brilliant. I would love to be able to see this many more times. Would highly recommend seeing a Broadway in Chicago show even if it is not this one.
Theater was too cold, Sound was too low, especially for female players. Acting of King quite good. Overall production just average.
It was beautifully done, the actors were amazing. The actor who played the King was absolutely amazing. It was very much on point with the original.
