About

What started as the RPM Gold Leaf Awards in 1964 by RPM editor and publisher Walt Grealis and record label executive Stan Klees, soon became The JUNO Awards in 1971. Named in tribute to Pierre Juneau, the first chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the JUNO Awards were founded to raise the public profile and recognition of musical artists in Canada.

The JUNO Awards has evolved from an industry awards event to a weeklong festival that travels city to city across the country. It encompasses both public-facing fan events and industry/networking opportunities featuring a diverse array of Canadian artists and emerging talent. In addition to The JUNO Awards Broadcast, JUNO Week event programming includes JUNO Songwriters' Circle, JUNOfest, JUNO Fan Fare, JUNO Cup, and more.

In 2002, The JUNO Awards went on the road to take the music to the fans and expanded its scope to include a series of public and private events outside of the Awards broadcast. Each host city has embraced their opportunity to support the JUNO Awards and build an enduring legacy of music programs in their market.

Missed Myles Goodwyn and Bruce Guthro tribute

by SM on 3/27/24Scotiabank Centre - Halifax

I ended up in Pit B, beside the presenters stage. Saw first hand the effort that goes into a live show like this. Watched technician carrying camera cord fall down the stage steps twice while running backwards. I thoroughly enjoyed the music and chosen presenters but felt the loss of Myles Goodwyn and Bruce Guthro absolutely should have been acknowledged.

    Extremely Political

by Tony on 3/27/24Scotiabank Centre - Halifax

There is a large variety of extremely talented musical performers that wear the distinction of being Canadian. The 2024 Juno's did not show case them, instead putting maximum effort towards show casing Diversity in the Canadian musical Industry. Some presenters went as far as to speak out against specific governments that are currently utilizing there right to freedom of speech to do what they feel is right for the youngsters within their jurisdictions. The Juno's is not a political stage and the talent of Canadian performers should have been on display, regardless of sex, color, sexual orientation, Race etc.

    Mid

by Yo mama on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

It was mid. Very short, nickelback didn’t do a full song, the Kim’s convenience guy and the flasher lady were the most entertainment of the night. Lots of fire was cool tho

Junos were great, the show was phenomenal

by Concertchick on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

Junos were amazing. Great performances by all artists. The Rogers staff were disorganized. We were 1st through security and then headed to the floor. We went to floor access sign and headed to the floor where we were told we could t get in without a bracelet. There was no direction where to go and all the stage spots filled up while we had to wait for security to get everything sorted out. So great event, poorly organized staff

    Juno Awards

    by B. V. on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

I did enjoy the show, however it was difficult for people in the upper levels to view the screens. There were not enough screens, were small and placed in positions that made it difficult for many to see. I am not sure why the big Jumbo Tron was not utilized as this would have allowed everyone to see the show better. This was a Big Fail in my opinion and appears like they only catered to the people who paid big $$$ for their tickets.

    Dissatisfied

by Disappointed on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

Although I knew our seats were not great, I was very disappointed with the Juno large screen set up as it wa small screen and only pointed towards the same seats at the back of rodgers. Thus four big screens were serving those that could already see the MainStage and in relatively good views already. Being on the side and near the top we were barely able to see what was happening during the event. I will never go to a Juno event again at Rogers for sure. Plus the fact that the MainStage acts were not really plentiful. As well they could have provided better commercial break entertainment.

    Very low on star power.

by JC on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

The big screens on side of the stage were too small for people at the back in the upper balcony. No Weeknd, Drake, Mendez etc.or icons like Shania Twain so very low on star power.

    Great attendance and experience!

by Lee on 3/16/23Rogers Place - Edmonton

Overall the Juno’s were a great experience, although it felt very short! Liquor sales ended very early and the staff at Roger’s Place was quite rude about it, in which is why it did not get 5 stars.
