THE BOOK OF MORMON ON TOUR

The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weeklysays, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show calls it "Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal." It's THE BOOK OF MORMON, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical.

This outrageous musical comedy follows the misadventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, sent halfway across the world to spread the Good Word. Now with standing room only productions in London, on Broadway, and across North America, THE BOOK OF MORMON has truly become an international sensation.

The Book of Mormon is a must see!

by Acool1 on 8/17/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

The show was wonderfully performed and was executed to near perfection. The writers did a magnificent job of combining plot with satire. I would recommend it to everyone, except maybe someone who is a Mormon.....

    Book of Mormon (Chicago)

by LibGirl75 on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

The show was amazing. The Private Bank Theater is great. Our seats were wonderful for the price. We could hear and see everything. The actors seemed to be having more fun than when we saw the show in New York, which is not always the case in a touring company.

    Book of Mormon was FANTASTIC!

by TheaLover1 on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

This show was great from first word till last. Such clever writing and such great songs. Truly unforgettable. The entire cast was outstanding with really great voices. We saw Zach Hess play Elder Price and he was outstanding. I would have never thought he was the understudy. Cody Jamison Strand was crazy good as Elder Cunningham! This was simply pure entertainment from start to finish.

    Broadway gone bad

by framework on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

I am a Broadway musical enthusiast over the past 30 years. The Book of Mormon was the crudest, offensive, irreverent, mocking, gross and hateful musical I have ever seen. The use of the "F" word was so vulgar and tacky. But the slam on the beautiful people of Africa, degrading of women, mocking of the beauty of sex, disregard for religious freedom, mockery of Jesus, and bullying of minorities was awful. I was embarrassed for the cast and crew that has to repeatedly indulge in this immoral and offensive musical. We can do better as musician, producers and actors.

Some funny moments, but unnecessarily blasphemous

by folky15 on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

As a 30-something male with some familiarity with Mormonism and South Park, I found a portion of this musical to be funny, but the majority of it made me uncomfortable. Actors were talented and some observations were spot on about Mormons and their sometimes-silly beliefs. A few songs were unnecessary in their hatred toward God (not just Mormonism). Wouldn't go again if the tix were free. Not recommending to anybody, not worth it.

Super fun with great music and laughs!

by enthusiast4musicals on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

We thoroughly enjoyed this musical! The music was great, performed by an amazing cast. Very likable characters that provided lots of humor and laughs! (Absolutely adored the actor who played Elder Cunningham!) The Book of Mormon was lighthearted fun about the absurdity of some Mormon beliefs & how they originated, yet the story was still encouraging about having faith in God, more so than in the religious doctrine. Some people may be offended by some of the language and actions, but again, it is meant to show absurdity. Would love to see it again simply due to the talented cast and just for all the laughs. Left the show feeling happy...not stressed or offended at all.

    Disappointed!

by Wouldntrecommend on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

I love South Park and I was prepared for crude and insensitive jokes designed to get a laugh, but I thought the language and sexual innuendo was over the top and unnecessary. There were a few scenes where I actually felt uncomfortable - and based on audience reaction, it sounded like others were uncomfortable as well. I do think $140 face value per ticket was way over priced for this show.

Best money I've spent in a long time - so worth it

by 4presale on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

Best show I've seen in a long time. We laughed for 2 hours and are still finding ourselves referencing some of the things from the play this week. Such witty quick humor. Totally worth the money.

    Completely Unexpected

by EGGce11ent on 8/16/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

I knew going in this was going to be something completely different, and I was not disappointed. It was a great show, but is definitely NOT a family show. Even my wife was cringing at certain points. Highly recommended if you like Matt Parker and Trey Stone, but don't bring someone who is easily offended.

    Excellent!

by VeganMomcms on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

Absolutely loved Book of Mormon! It was hilarious and all of the actors were just fantastic. Definitely not a show for someone who can't handle the f bomb a bunch of times or quite a few lewd sexual jokes. I noticed a family near us with a child about 12. Pretty sure they didn't know how raunchy the show was because they reached over and covered his ears several times and looked pretty horrified by the dialogue. Not a show for people under 18! But an incredibly well done show for grown ups!

    Irreverent Fun

by TMal7 on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

The musical deserved every Tony it got. This company of actors/singers did it proud too. Many times you have to improvise to make things right.

    Irreverent and hysterical

by Paticake on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

This cast was unbelievably talented. The story is a hoot, the songs are catchy, the acting is awesome! Don't go if you're easily offended, however! Lots of sexual & scatalogical references and probably blasphemous for a good portion of the audience. But it was SO FUNNY. I laughed for 2 hours straight, and I am usually hard to entertain!

Too funny in a South Park, Avenue Q sorta of way

by lashellen1 on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

The Book of Mormon was hilarious. I found myself busting out laughing at the writers abilities to portray the culture of religion and history in such a comedic way. I think I laughed a little harder because I've been to "Salta Laka City" and have seen the beautiful location and spoken with some of the missionaries there. In short, this play is not for those who are unable to poke fun at themselves. Admittedly there were times, I was like "ouch" but laughed anyway. The singing was just beautiful, and it was great to see such a multicultural camaraderie in cast and audience attendance. Our seats were great. Thanks!! You all did a wonderful job.

    A total RiOT

by ElderKAZman on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

Very funny musical! Elder Cunningham totally stole the show and Nabulungi was wonderful. I especially loved the physical comedy of Cody Jamison Strand when the curtains closed around him as Elder Prices ego was showing. We say Charnette Batey as Nabulungi and that role could not be played any better! Wonderful evening.

    Great show

by b98765432 on 8/15/16The PrivateBank Theatre - Chicago

The show is really funny, we were glad we went. Not for folks that are easily offended and not recommended for kids. The jokes are nonstop and there isn't a dull moment. Highly recommended.
