THE BOGMEN IN CONCERT:
In the late '90s The Bogmen became one of New York City's biggest underground acts with their polyrhythmic indie rock sound and celebratory live shows. Mainstream commercial success eluded them and they broke up in 1999, but they've thrilled in-the-know fans over the years with several reunions. The band's boisterous live performances played a big role in their popularity, and they pick up right where they left off every time they regroup for a tour. From "Suddenly" to "Mexico", the Bogmen's live sets include all the highlights from their brief but bright career, making for a nostalgic and feel-good concert experience ticket buyers won't soon forget.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Billy Campion and brothers Bill and Brendan Ryan began performing as The Plummers while attending college together in the mid-'80s. After playing local shows on Long Island for a few years they picked up drummer Clive Tucker, percussionist P.J. O'Connor, and bassist Mark Wike and formed the Bogmen. The group developed a unique tribal-meets-indie sound and cut their teeth with tireless touring, and in 1995 they signed with Arista Records to release their debut LP Life Begins at 40 Million. The album was a hit with critics and received airplay on MTV, but it failed to make much impact beyond the New York indie scene, a fact the band attributed to the difficulty of capturing their vigorous live sound on record. They remained NYC favorites up until the 1998 release of their sophomore album Closed Caption Radio, but called it quits when that album failed to find a wider audience. To the delight of fans, the Bogmen have reunited for over the years for various charity events and one-off tours, proving they've lost none of their magic with rousing performances every time they take the stage.
The place was packed, and they sounded incredible! They played some new stuff which was fantastic, and a bunch of old reliable’s. They get better with age!
I missed The Bogmen in September when they played Webster Hall. I waited too long to buy tickets and it was sold out. I’ll never make that mistake again after the Bowery Ball room show. Such a great show. Age appropriate fun. I’ll definitely see them next time they are in town.
The Bogmen crushed it. Amazing concert and the energy in the room was electric!!
It’s been a few years, and the Bogmen were always a solid show, but this was the best, tightest set I’ve seen them do. And their cover of the Pogues Fairytale of New York was by itself, worth the price of admission.
Check in was simple and quick. The band sounded unbelievable. Billy‘s voice is better than ever and they played a super tight set including the great classics as well as some new great tunes as well. Looking forward to more music and more great shows at the Paramount.
Not only was the Bogmen better then ever, the Paramount was a great venue to see them. It was my first time at the Paramount and I loved everything about it especially the Founders Room after the show. What an amazing place. I plan to be back again soon!
These guys I have been going to see since High School. The energy from the crowd and the band seems to never miss a beat. Just awesome

A rousing, energetic show that hd the crowd in a partying mood. A great time was had by all.
Although singer, Bill Campion is undergoing some medical issues with his instrument (vocal cords), the Boggers still pulled off a hell of a show. Lot's of old favorites, some great new songs & the addition of a 3-piece horn section -- another layer to the ever evolving sound of the Bogmen.
