The course was in a very special location with views of Manhattan from many holes. Transport to and from the general parking area was well organized and timely. The only negative comments for the entire tournament were: 1) No programs or course maps. Viewing the map on a phone is awkward at best. 2). Not enough food and drink concessions throughout the course. No reason that people should wait in line 30-40 mins for a hot dog or cold drink.
We paid serious money for tickets in the Ancho Club hospitality suite. In the past, this has been located in the premium spot with great view. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find they had moved it to the 18th fairway. Only view we had was 150-200 yards from the green which was basically worthless. With this absorbent price was free food and drink, but they wouldn’t serve anything until 11:00 am although gates opened at 7:00am. The food choices and quality were equally disappointing. A bait and switch from previous years…..
Great experience. Easy to park. Shuttle to and from the lots. Friendly staff.
The course was great, easy to walk around and see great golf. The issue, a minimum of 30 minutes on every food/beverage line. It really took away from the experience...
Really great event. Transportation from the city (free ferry) was hassle free, course was in immaculate condition. Only issue i had was that there wasn't enough beer tents & the lines took forever.
Compared to previous years of the Northern Trust (especially at Ridgewood) this year at Liberty National was awful. This course does not deserve to host an official PGA tour event. It simply cannot handle it. Food was terrible, volunteers were lost and confused, and there were no space for daily grounds spectators. I'm glad that Northern Trust is closing shop this year. If it ever returns to Liberty National, I will only go to a practice round.
Felt like they weren’t expecting that many people for some reason. On multiple different occasions I waited well over a half hour in concession lines. Not sure how to fix it, just felt like they were unprepared for the amount of fans that were in attendance.
Taking the ferry from Manhattan to LNGC is such a great experience. You get dropped right at the clubhouse and are watching golf within minutes. I’ve been to lots of big tournaments and these are the best logistics around. Course is beautiful and walkable. Unfortunately even after a few years they’ve not yet figured out concessions. It was a really hot day and my son and I could not even get a bottle of water without waiting 30 minutes. Guys please create some concession carts that can move around or add a lot more F&B options. Understand VIP has lots of options but Grounds tix need more. Thanks!
Beer/Food lines were ridiculous. Open more “beer only” lines, or have more vendors. Waiting on line for 30 minutes is not cool!
