With 10 Tony® nominations including Best Musical, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is a “big, fat hit!” (New York Post). Set in the ‘90s – the 1590s – this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom (Tony® nominee Rob McClure and Broadway’s Josh Grisetti), two brothers who are desperate to write their own hit play while the "rock star" Shakespeare (Tony® nominee Adam Pascal) keeps getting all the hits. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL! With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is “The Producers + Spamalot + The Book of Mormon. Squared!” (New York Magazine).

This show was funny and definitely worth watching!
Hilarious show, while also giving a nod to many famous musicals.
Incredibly fun show for those that love musicals. Tons of inside jokes for those that know the scene well.
The plot of the show sounded promising and there were some funny moments. There are a lot of "inside jokes" for the avid theater fan, which I found a little pretentious. We almost left early when the dancing omelettes appeared on stage, but stuck it out. We were disappointed overall.
It is a really funny show with phenomenal cast. Very good acting, dancing and singing ... all this united in an exciting choreography. Thanks for this nice evening and a lot of success for all further performances in the future (I believe, this production will come to Hamburg/Germany too in autumn.
Fun and funny. Very strong cast. Any chance you get to see Adam Pascal---do it!
Still laughing....a very memorable and uniquely diffferent written musical!!!
One of the best shows I've seen. Entertaining, funny, original, Something Rotten was great and we are glad to see it on this tour.
Something Rotten is the funniest stage production since Book of Mormon. The music is catchy and provides an excellent medium for conveying hysterical dialogue. The references to dozens of other plays interwoven in song and dialogue is really fun and drives home the point of the soothsayer's role. In all a really enjoyable romp. A can't miss!!
We read a glowing review in our daily newspaper and made a last minute decision to see "Something Rotten." So glad we did. We see a lot of theater so we really enjoyed the clever "thievery" in the script.
I listened to the soundtrack before seeing the show, and was really looking forward to it. It did not disappoint! The characters are fun, and the lyrics so clever. And the little pokes at all the different musicals was hilarious. If you're a fan of musicals, you'll be wracking your brain to try to catch all the references. And I have to say, that watching the signers for the hearing impaired was also amazing. It was fun to see them interpret the dance numbers - they do much more than just translate the dialog. They also give their audience a feel for the show. See this show.
Fun! Smart! Laughed bunches! Cast was super talented and really looked like they were having fun!
I was given a ticket to this show for my birthday. I waited well over a year to actually see the show and am thrilled I was able to. Even balcony seats were amazing views. The cast was hilarious and very friendly to meet at the stage door after the show ended. The music is by far one of my favorite soundtracks ever.
I loved it when I saw it in New York with the original cast and I loved it when I saw it with the touring cast in Chicago. What a madcap and brilliantly entertaining evening!
This show was amazing! Rob McClure, Josh Grisetti, and Adam Pascal were all fantastic along with the rest of the cast. It is a very creative show and I recommend this show to anyone with a sense of humor because this show will keep you laughing the whole night. 100% recommend!
This show was the most fun! Great, talented actors and lively music. Perhaps my favorite of the many shows I have seen. Just a great time.
If you are looking for some humor, this is a must see! So creatively done.
A true American musical. Big production numbers, catchy tunes, quick pace and very, very funny. The 'Omelette' production number rivaled The Producer's 'Springtime for Hitler" in it's over the top camp. The cast was terrific; notably Rob McClure, Maggie Lakis and Blake Hammond. The only downside, in my opinion, was Adam Pascal's Shakespeare. We could barely understand him; he spoke quickly and not very clearly...he just wasn't funny. I would love to see this again but with a different Shakespeare. Either way, a terrific show.
Show is filled with puns and dancers galore! It was such a great show and I was laughing the whole time!
