Venue change
by Ben on 5/9/24Clay Center - CharlestonI purchased these tickets in November of 2023, anticipating a great day with my wife and young son. On the morning of the event, I grab the tickets off the front of the fridge. We received them in December and I put them on the fridge until the day of the event. We were looking into directions to the venue and some other activities to do when we are in Charleston. During the search we saw an artical about what a great time “ Elmo’s say hello” was on Monday. Monday the 6th not Wednesday the 8th. Our tickets say may 8th. So we look further into it and find out the venue was changed and the date of the show, I was sent an email a week or two before that I never saw (i don’t really use email, I almost never check it) and now I’ve missed the show, my wife is mad, my kid is sad and I’m out the 160$ in tickets. In this day and age there should be a better effort to inform people when a venue change happens. And we couldn’t have gone on Monday anyways. Our careers require far advance planning for a day off. We had planned for months and months for us both to be off work and available on wed the 8th. The lesson learned is I will go out of my way to not use ticket master ever again. I will go the long way to buy directly from a venue. I will drive to the venue and purchase tickets in person in advance to avoid using Ticketmaster in the future. One single email about the venues and date change. But as I look through the inbox to see exactly when I missed the email, ticket master has emailed me like once a week since I bought those tickets to promote everything, but only one said that the venue has been changed.
