    Saturday night fever blister

by Hopper31 on 4/5/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

Didnt expect too much fromthe road crew traveling to Springfield Ma,, but this was more like a highschool play. A man behind us fell asleep, while I felt uncomfortable for the cast, who did try, and I will not bash they for trying their best. This was just too big for them. We left during intermission, trying to salvage some of the night I took off from work. Wish I could get my money back.

    High expectations - very disappointed!!!

by WesternMA on 4/4/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

We were very disappointed in the performance of Saturday Night Fever in Springfield. As frequent theatre goers - we have seen many different and varied performances. The lead sang in what may have been an attempt at a NY accent - but it wasn't successful in his speaking and even worse in his singing. With the sound being too loud through the speakers, at times he sounded like a fog horn and we couldn't even make out what he was saying. Some of the scene changes were done with all the stage lights on and we could see the stage hands. The singing range of some of the performers were outside of the Bee Gee's original sounds which detracted and distracted from the performance.

Saturday Night Fever Musical Delivers Big-time!

by ivechi on 4/4/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

This was a smart, funny, talented cast and production which was very true to the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever. It was wonderful to see those great old days recreated and to hear the film's soundtrack sun and danced to within the context of the musical - great to hear Ivonne Hooligan, Tavares and BeeGees on stage in dramatic/musical numbers. Very cool! Great cast - they were young and very capable of delivery mood of times, young people and gist of film. Main female character Stephanie spoke just like her film twin (what a hoot)! Kudos to producer, director and choregrapher! Kudos to hall's director for bringing great shows to town - The Tavares, The Temptations, Saturday Night Fever and earlier Songs of Broadway Musicals. You're great! Bravo!

    Terrific Show!!!

by RatingMusical10 on 4/4/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

I thought this was a fantastic show..Everyone did a terrific job.The only thing I could critique is once in a while I could not hear tony talk.It was a little soft and not clear...I heard everyone else great though and we were right up front so I'm not sure how they could hear him in the back..Overall it was a terrific show!!!

    Saturday Night Fever

by MJW14 on 4/4/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

This was a great show at Springfield Symphony Hall. The only negative thing was that the dialogue was hard to hear. Singing was crystal clear and WOW, the choreography and dances were fantastic.

    Saturday Night Flop

by OneLoveOneWorld on 4/4/17Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

Unfortunately this was the worst musical I have ever seen. The lead was, in my opinion, poorly cast. He was a mediocre singer and did not appear to be a professional dancer. This was true of many of the singers, with the exception of two female actresses. We left at intermission.

    terribly dissapointed

by tamiamimama on 4/2/17merrill auditiorium - portland

This show was a very cheesy production, with no entertaining qualities. Singing, dancing, staging, sound, clothing all left a lot to be desired. Left at intermission, as did quite a few others. After reading the reviews here, it seems many who saw this production have had the same disappointment, especially in the lead, Tony. Why they have not replaced him with all the months of negativity is hard to understand. Don't waste your time and money on this one!!!!
