SASQUATCH! FESTIVAL:

Sasquatch! Music Festival is living up to its name in 2014, bringing the Pacific Northwest not one, but two massive holiday weekends of top-notch performances. Just as the announcement of the Labor Day lineup featuring Outkast and The National had fans feeling dizzy, the Fourth of July weekend bill topped by Soundgarden and Kraftwerk came and knocked them on their asses. Not to worry, the daze will certainly wear off in time for fans to enjoy the festival's pristine river gorge location, state-of-the-art light and sound technology, and five stages of world-class music.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Created in 2002 by Adam Zacks as a way to cater to audiences' increasingly eclectic music tastes, Sasquatch! Festival has grown to become one of the Pacific Northwest's premier summer music festivals. Featuring artists from an ever-increasing array of genres, the festival has boasted some of the biggest names in music in its 12-year existence, including Bjork, The Cure, and Nine Inch Nails. With wooded campgrounds and cleverly named stages like the Bigfoot Stage and the Yeti Stage, fans are sure to get a decidedly Pacific Northwest experience at the 2014 festival.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This event was unforgettable. There were so many great bands and the people there were all so chill and accepting. I am definitely going again next year..."

"Sasquatch was absolutely amazing. The lineup was legendary and each artist put on a fantastic show."

"Aside from the music, the bathrooms are surprisingly clean, the food vendors at the campsite definitely palatable, and the fellow concertgoers as friendly and fun seeking as my own posse."

Great lineup, horrible schedule. Too many great artists overlapped and were not spread out throughout the 4 days enough. And the danciest artists on Monday night? They should have been Saturday.

    Sasquatch is like no other

by noxplague on 5/29/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

Incredible location, vistas, and weather. Campgrounds are on a hill and get lots of airflow. The venue itself is obviously amazing, I got close to each stage and also watched some from further away and every stage except for the Honda Bigfoot has good sound/experience. Being able to just flow from the amphitheater to the electric tent and back so easily was just awesome. Great event for a group of friends.

    grateful performers

    by ani88 on 5/29/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

I really enjoyed the headliners! Macklemore and postal service being from seattle were so grateful to be there and made the performance that much better. Also loved mumford and sons! It was so great that he changed instruments for each song. Wrist bands were convenient, even though it was a long walk the camping was pretty good. Maybe more showers? One of those facilities per camp area just wasn't enough. I arrived at the showers at 8am on Saturday and waited for a half hour and wasn't even halfway through the line. I really enjoyed the music selection, good rap/hip hop artists, maybe reggae bands next year too?

My favorite event every year. Have some incredible memories from the Gorge. In my opinion its best place to enjoy any type live of music. Plus camping is a lot of fun as well, if you come prepared.

    The People Make the Sasquatch!

by jeffotheklown on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

So many excellent bands and a great dance tent, but what I love about Sasquatch is all the happy, dancing people, in the festival and in the campgrounds, all determined to have a great time while being great human beings! The vibe baby. It's all about the vibe!

    Absolutely unforgettable and amazing experience!

by IGoToConcertsAlot on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

This was my first experience at Sasquatch and all I can say is...go! Words cannot even express how amazing this festival and venue are. The views from the gorge hill and music brought me to tears and finally leaving the gorge was one of the saddest moments ever. I think I found my annual Memorial Day weekend plans.

Everyone should experience the festival and adventure that is Sasquatch. By the end of the weekend the 20,000+ fans slowly, and surprisingly become a family. Very chill event. Never felt threatened or unsafe during the entire festival, which allows you to fully enjoy the music and bands. 2013 was a GREAT lineup. All the headliners KILLED it. And there were even better performances on the smaller stages. All and all a VERY pleasant weekend. Wish I could do it again! Things I learned at Sasquatch: -As an American...you are a minority. Canadians TAKE OVER. -Security does not know how to handle the entrance lines. By day 3, it took at times an HOUR to get in. -The amount of people I saw puking and peeing on each other by day 4 was not only surprising, but alarming. Prepare yourself. -Bring every type of clothing, for every type of weather. It gets COLD at night, and the weather changes fast throughout the day. -Bring a costume....but really. You think I am kidding? Sasquatch = Halloween. -Prepare yourself for an AWESOME weekend.

The venue was fantastic, the lineup was incredible, the views were great and the services were quite adequate as well. I'm still zoned out from how much fun I had at Sasquatch. This is truly an experience I'll never forget!

A PRICELESS EXPERIENCE THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET

by tessamen on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

Just returned home an hour ago from 5 days spent at the beautiful Gorge for Sasquatch 2013! I have to say it was the best weekend of my life - I spent time with my best friends saw my favorite bands perform my favorite songs live and met so many great people (cheers to the Canadians who were incredibly hospitable!) I was apprehensive about going at first because a. it's costly, b. it's 4 nights of camping in the unpredictable Pacific Northwest and c. I only knew a handful of the bands really well. BUT in the end none of these concerns mattered! The price is completely worth it, go the day before the show and you'll have 5 days of camping - which if you are prepared is no hassle at all, it's nice to cook your own food and spend quality time with your friends....which of course includes a lot of drinking too, this is sort of why everyone is so nice and friendly - you're all just there to have a GREAT time. As for my last concern.....not an issue either!! I really enjoyed my favorite bands (MUMFORD and SONS!!! = life changing) but I also loved hearing bands I wasn't as familar with..this kind of exposure must be great for them because I have to go buy some albums now. For the most part you can get away with not knowing any words to begin with, because by the second chorus you'll be singing along like a pro. Basically I'm in love with the entire Sasquatch experience and I will definitely be going again. I recommend the 4 day pass to get the entire experience, you won't regret it.

    MAGIC

by thebestbagel on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

The sensory perceptions of this weekend were unbelievable. From the sight of the gorge and the incredible sunsets, to the taste of delicious vendors, to the sounds of bands I have loved my whole life, and the feel of the sunshine on my face and wind in my hair--I am just so blown away by my experience at Sasquatch. The festival was extremely well planned and easy to navigate. The lineup was to die for. I had an amazing time and will likely be back next year.

    I would do it again!

by dontscreammolly on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

Happies - loved the variety of music. SO many good bands. The End acoustic sets were great and they served cheap(er) drinks in The End tent. Being able to bring food and water in from outside was awesome. The walk to and from the campsite wasn't too bad. The t-shirts (merchandise) were fairly priced. Honey buckets were CLEANED daily in concert and camping. Water, soap and paper towels for hand washing! Camping was pretty quiet. Not too many people around our tent partying all night. Food (pizza, noodle bowls) sold in camping area for late night munchies.. Nice people working gates/food/vending. Frowns - People working in general parking/camping lots were not very helpful. When we arrived nobody was around to direct us and we just parked and set up our tent in a spot we kind of created and squeezed into (ended up being a great spot). The Honda stage sound was screwed up a bunch of times. People waited hours for their mobile shower. The tall can beers are still expensive and awkward to carry around. It would of been nice to have a few places hand out/sell rain ponchos out when needed. Alt-j and Lumineers on separate stages at the same time - lame. Steve Aoki and Rusko should of played Sunday night so people with jobs could stay and play.

Best event in NW to see Live music!

    by Spudnik7 on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

This is my third time attending Sasquatch, and as always it didn't disappoint. New ticketing system is much improved in reducing long lines and allows for re-entry during the day. So many bands to see! The XX and Sigur Ros shows back-to-back on mainstage Saturday night were incredible. Bloc Party was a surprise, great dance party on the main floor. Good to see those guys playing together again. Alt-J on Monday evening was awesome!. As usual, crowded but always friendly. Great place to people watch and meet folks from many places, backgrounds, and ages.

My first Sasquatch so I was blown away by almost everything. The walk is a little tough when you want to see every band. No chance to get back to site at all. Other then that amazing.

Incredible 4 days - besides Honda Bigfoot Stage

    by kelsey1678 on 5/28/13Gorge Amphitheatre - George

Only disappointment was the Honda Bigfoot stage - what was wrong with the sound? Disappointed that I could hardly hear Vampire Weekend, Grimes, or Empire of the Sun no matter how close I got to the front. Main stage was excellent, and whole event seemed much more organized than in previous years. Had a lot of fun!

The sound at Bigfoot stage was terrible for Grimes and several other shows. Very disappointing the sound guys couldn't correct it. I do not feel like I got my 300 worth because of this.
