Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has been recognized as one of the most gifted songwriters and lyricists of our time. As the legendary composer of many of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us “Give a Little Bit,” “The Logical Song,” “Dreamer,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” “Fool’s Overture” and so many others that have become the soundtrack of our lives and helped his former band sell well over 60 million albums.
Hodgson continues to tour extensively worldwide performing not only his classics, but also material from his solo albums.
Loved the music he played and the stories he told to provide the background in the lyrics. He still sounds and plays beautifully.
He is the voice and talent of Supertramp, but he can not do the show alone. His band is incredibly talented. I do wish the volume was up.
Roger is a SUPERSTAR. His voice, his composition, and his fellow musicians make for an enchanted evening of sounds and emotions. He asks us "to use music to heal and leave life's "junk" outside the theater"and then delivers a near perfect performance of old and new material. Timeless messages and questions in the lyrics keep you tuned in the whole performance. If you ever liked even one Supertramp song, I urge you to see Roger in concert. OUTSTANDING!
Although our seats were on the side of the venue and part of the stage was blocked, they have great big screens. Sound system had some glitches also. Roger Hodgson was great. Voice still strong and the same. You can tell that he enjoys what he does by the sound and he had a great connection with the audience.
Great show!! He played a lot of the hits. There were a couple of technical difficulties (power cut off twice), but they played through it. Roger had a little hard time hitting some of the highest, loudest notes, but still sounded great!! Overall an awesome show!!
Very intimate and personable show. Would go again in a heartbeat.
So, after 40yrs of waiting. I finally had the chance to see Roger Hodgson in concert. My fiancee and I went to Milwaukee to see the show. It was at a very small venue at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. After taking a walk around the casino to see where the "Northern Lights Theater" was located we then decided to head back to our room. While walking through the main lobby, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a familiar face. Yep, guess who was also walking through? It was Roger himself. My fiancee and I approached Roger with anticipation that we may get the chance to meet him. When we all made eye contact, we all smiled at one another. He knew we wanted to greet him. With a very gracious smile, he held his hand out to ours. He spoke with us briefly and allowed us to take a picture with him. He was so down to earth. Fast forward to the show. It was all we had expected. His voice was spot on! He played and sang with all his heart and soul. His love for all that attended shinned through.
This is the third time we've seen Roger at this venue, in as many years (give or take). Lots of fun, as usual. Lord willing, we'll be there next time too!
Very nice theater and a terrific show by Roger Hodgson. Will definitely plan on seeing him again!
Having never seen Supertramp live before, we were treated to all the classic Supertramp hits as well as some deep cuts and a couple of solo project songs. Roger was in relatively fine voice throughout, backed by a super band of multi-instrumentalists (the wind instrument player was particularly impressive). He was also very engaging and very appreciative of the audience. One of the best concerts we've ever seen.
Awesome Show! Roger loved to play for his audience and did an amazing job! He was warm, welcoming, and gracious. Roger's voice was still great and his band rocked! Excellent performance by all!
Saw an exceptional concert tonight from Roger Hodgson of Supertramp fame. Hodgson was co-founder of Supertramp and composed and sang lead vocals on most of Supertramp’s songs. The music at the concert was hauntingly beautiful with such a distinctive sound. The lyrics ranged from the humorous (ie "The Logical Song") to the spiritual (ie "Lord is it Mine" and "Even in the Quietest Moments") yet they were always thoughtful and at times profound. This was the second time we have seen Hodgson in concert and both times rank among the best concerts we have ever attended.
Having just seen 3 of the 4 night residency of concerts in Milwaukee, singer songwriter Roger Hodgson's music and performance remain tireless and thoroughly enjoyable. As always, all shows were sold out and Roger's connection with the audience made for an unforgettable experience. His set lists span the days of Supertramp hits through his solo work and Roger and his band play them with enthusiasm, making them sound like they are from the original recording. He plays a 2 hour show, without intermission, and actually engages with his audience to make you feel like he is playing just for you, in his living room. The uniqueness and popularity of Roger Hodgson's music is tireless. You cannot miss Roger Hodgson in concert, when he is at a venue near you.
Age has not affected Roger Hodgson much. He cares about his audience and is magnificent!
This was a great show. I always loved Supertramp. It was so nice to hear the tunes live again. The Northern Lights Theater is a great venue. Very intimate with really no bad seats.
Venue is awesome!! The performance was superb. Aqustics at this venue are really fine. Roger Hodgson is an awesome performer.
Roger played for almost 2 hours. I didn’t want him to stop. He has still got it!
We go to see Roger Hodgson every year he comes to Milwaukee. He always gives a great concert. He is such a genuine and warm person and that comes through when talking to the audience and feel he can share that more in The Northern Lights theater, where every seat is a good seat. Loved the show, will see him again when he returns. Roger along with his band is very talented. Only problem is, the time goes by so quickly and the concert is over too soon!
Always my favorite venue and love seeing roger . Go every time he’s back in town
Roger Hodgson and the band sounded great. First time a Fox Theatre, awesome venue.
