    Rock of Ages was TERRIBLE

by Chicagosoup on 3/18/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

ROCK OF AGES WAS THE WORST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. I cannot tell you how awful the language and sexual content was during the first 30 minutes of show. I do not know anything past that because we left. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money someplace else.

enjoyed the presentation... humor appropriate.... I found myself comparing the production to the movie.... enjoyed the interplay of the sub plots and the way the actors protrayed their parts. As with most Broadway plays there is a "non main" actor that makes the biggest impact... Hans-- the German son and Eugenia's reaction to the father's confrontation was real entertaining... the music was excellant . Would highly recommend to see this production. The narrator -- Drew--- connected the various parts and enjoyed the audience interaction.

Ain't Nothin But A Good Time!!!!

by shelshock2001 on 3/18/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Seeing Rock of Ages again (shows #56 & 57) was of course amazing. If you like 80's music, awesomely talented cast & a kick ass band then this is definitely the show for you. From the minute you walk into the theatre you feel like you are at a rock concert. Dom & Shannon will blow you away with their amazing vocals and vulnerability as Drew & Sherrie. Andrew & Brian portray the perfect Lonny & Dennis so funny. Tanner & Jessica are fantastic as Franz & Regina my favorite scene will always be Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Phil is tremendous as Hertz (so glad he was back this time so I could see him) Chris as the Mayor always has me laughing during his scenes. Kadejah & Ashley will blow you away with their voices as Mama & Waitress #1. Josh really portrays the evil rockstar (Stacee) to perfection killer voice & can't deny those abs. Love Sam as Joey Primo dynamite voice (and always has a quick response to things) The entire ensemble Cody, Madison, Leah, Gelsey & Tim are fantastic!!! They can slip into any role when duty calls and will knock your socks off. Then you have the band Paul, Maddox, Rigo, and Bones are on stage the entire show and give their heart & soul each & every night. So my recommendation?? RUN don't walk to see this show you will not be sorry!!!

by jwmilleril on 3/18/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

The show was great! It's all those songs you loved in the 80's and more! I imagine it would be even better on Broadway but we had a fantastic time.

    Don't stop believing!

Everyone in our group loved the show. Great energy and great songs! The performers were fantastic. Sounds and lighting was spot on. I would warn those bringing young children that some of the content was a bit bawdy and they might have to explain some context to younger theater attendees.

It was very good and we enjoyed the performance. My only complaint was that in the first half of the show, they did not sing most of the songs in their entirety. We like to hear the whole song.

    Rock of Ages kicks a$$

by Hook316 on 3/18/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

This was my 4th time seeing Rock do Ages and it is still awesome. It will never get old. Aside from Book of Mormon which is in a class all by itself, this is by far my 2nd favorite musical. Definitely for those that grew up in the 80's.

    The best musical I've seen!

by Malena84 on 3/17/14Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Rock of Ages was awesome! truly magical and unforgettable! I would recommend this musical to anyone who loves rock music and the 80's, then you are in for the best night of your life. the cast was phenomenal and really good. Rock of Ages totally lives up to it's name and my expectations were execeeded and i was blown away by the performance. It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that you can not miss! You will be swept up in the emotion of the story and will have to stop yourself from singing along to the songs and rocking out to the music. it is a powerful and magical experience that you have got to see for yourself! I had a wonderful time and If i could see Rock of Ages again, i would do it in a heartbeat! the only downside to the whole night is that i didn't get a chance to meet and get my picture taken with Dominique Scott who played Drew/Wolfgang Von Colt at the end of the show! He was just awesome as Drew and a great singer too! that was my only downside but i'll soon get my chance to meet him! Overall, it was the best night of my life and it was first time seeing an actual broadway musical. I was not disappointed at all! So if you have a chance to see Rock of Ages then go see it! you will have the best time of your live! Don't Stop Believing!!!!!!!!!!
