Linda Eder was, as always, unforgettable. Rita Wilson was ok but Linda is too good of an act to follow. My wife and I have followed Linda for years so we are a bit biased.
I've seen Linda countless times and she is and has always been unbelievable. Her talent is unrivaled and she is hilarious, to boot!! I ask her every time I see her if she "blows herself away"!!!! She just laughs and says no!!!! Love her!!!! This was the first time I saw Rita Wilson. How refreshing and enjoyable she was!! From her song choices to her stories, she brought me right back to the sixties and seventies!! All and all, a very entertaining evening that was most memorable!!
If either one is playing in your area you must go. Both are great especially Linda; best voice and Rita; is fun. When ever Linda Eder is performing near by I make an effort to attend her shows.. This was a better show then she did at the taj
Rita Wilson tried hard to entertain but I think next time she performs in concert, she would do well to NOT, I repeat NOT, have a seasoned multi-octave, blow the wallpaper off with no effort, Broadway star perform before her. Her voice is passable,but thin compared to Linda's.her stage presence is a little tight and slightly forced as if reading lines. Linda is relaxed, comfortable with the stage and the audience sensed it, and rewarded her with great rounds of applause. For Rita, the response was polite. Hardly ever thunderous. I almost felt bad for her because I just kept picturing her backstage, waiting to come on, and hearing Linda Eder belt one song after another, with perfect pitch, perfect phrasing, and too many to count standing ovations from the gleeful audience. She was probably thinking, " who the hell is Linda Eder, and what idiot on my staff thought I should follow THAT!!!" It was the equivalent of an American Idol loser, following Barbra Streisand. No chance. She would be wise to choose a Comic, a Dog Act, or anything other than a superior singer to open her show.
The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because i have to rate Rita Wilson, who dragged it down. Linda Eder is one of the most underrated performers of our time. Her show was perfection! I would travel just about anywhere to see her . Great technique, wonderful audience rapport, a pure professional. A real, class act. on the other hand, Don't waste your money on Rita Wilson. Her show seemed very amateurish. I cannot believe she was on AFTER Ms. Eder
While the concert as a whole was not bad, Rita has (unfortunately) a ways to go in terms of perfecting her voice to attract as a solo artist. I enjoyed my first visit to the Disney Concert Hall and the various artists that made an appearance but have to say that I was blown away by The Tenors and, thrilled with Richard Marx being there and performing. Jackson Browne was billed as a guest but was not there and no reason was given for his absence; that was disappointing.
Linda Eder's voice is magical. She presents herself wonderfully and my wife, my mother-in-law and I absolutely loved her performance. I would go back to see her in a heartbeat. I would also give her a five star rating alone without Rita Wilson. Rita Wilson, on the other hand, was average at best. The reason for my 3 star rating is because Linda was out of this world but Rita was average at best.
Linda Eder was as good as it gets - 5+ stars No question she is best female singer out there. Eder's voice superb, personality on stage totally professional cannot say enough positive relating to Eder. Crowd gave her several standing ovations, and sometime ever in the middle of a number - SHE DESERVED IT!!!! Rita Wilson was pathetic, an insult to audience. She has no voice, no stage presence. when she tried talking she became totally confused. Wilson does not belong on same stage as Eder. She totally insulted Eder by not pronouncing her name correctly. should have waked out the first time she sang a note.
Linda was outstanding. She should have done the whole show by herself. Rita Wilson had no business being a co headliner on this show. Linda eder is just as good as Celine dion whereas Rita Wilson was just a beginner and she sang like that.
Great performers, awesome sweet songs, production was smooth and flawless! The Disney Concert Hall is stunning to look at with superb acoustics!
