Rita Wilson tried hard to entertain but I think next time she performs in concert, she would do well to NOT, I repeat NOT, have a seasoned multi-octave, blow the wallpaper off with no effort, Broadway star perform before her. Her voice is passable, but thin compared to Linda's.her stage presence is a little tight and slightly forced as if reading lines. Linda is relaxed, comfortable with the stage and the audience sensed it, and rewarded her with great rounds of applause. For Rita, the response was polite. Hardly ever thunderous. I almost felt bad for her because I just kept picturing her backstage, waiting to come on, and hearing Linda Eder belt one song after another, with perfect pitch, perfect phrasing,
and too many to count standing ovations from the gleeful audience. She was probably thinking, " who the hell is Linda Eder, and what idiot on my staff thought I should follow THAT!!!" It was the equivalent of an American Idol loser, following Barbra Streisand. No chance.
She would be wise to choose a Comic, a Dog Act, or anything other than a superior singer to open her show.
